KVG health insurance

This will only help if you are retired, and have no income nor pensions in CH. If you are a UK national and have been insured under the National Health Service they are obliged to pay for your health costs in CH if you retire here. This means you are absolved from paying for expensive Swiss health insurance. When you left the UK permanently you should have been given an E121. Contact KVG in Solothurn and they will explain the procedure to you. Further if,in ignorance, you have been paying for insurance here they will arrange reimbursement of your insurer for all expenses incurred. Your insurer is then obliged to refund you all the premiums you have paid, although this may take time.

Re: KVG health insurance

Can confirm all of the above having recently been through the process, it can take a while because the UK end is not the most efficient.

Re: KVG health insurance

Same here, took a while but all done now and working fine- as OH had to have medical treatment last year. We still have to pay 10% and a 300CHF franchise though. We went to Soleure/Solothurn in person as it is so much easier, and dealt with Mr Reinman, who speaks excellent English.
