Re: CSS is terrible and dishonest

Now I have learned on my mistakes. Check twice..
I did not know about online, thank you for that info!

Most surprising is that NOBODY told me that I had two separate insurance plans till today. I believe they just wanted to cheat on me. I have no other explanation. I contacted to them via phone and email and NOBODY never even said I have two plans which i should cancel separately.

Re: CSS is terrible and dishonest

Because 'everyone' in Switzerland knows that is the case - that all those insurance contracts are separate- and they therefore would never think of telling you, as it is the norm here. We have had nothing but excellent experiences with the CSS with my parents who were always insured by them- I have to say. It's a bit like saying the shop sold you 'fondue' mix but didn't tell you to add wine and garlic. In your country, probably foreigners may get caught out because they are not used to your system. I am sure CSS didn't intend to cheat you.

Re: CSS is terrible and dishonest

Thank you Odile for your opinion.
I believe you are living here pretty long. That's why you say: "'everyone' in Switzerland knows that.."
But that moment I just arrived to Switzerland and did not know that. I talked to CSS agents and asked their assistance. That what I got in the end.
Profetas, my companion in misfortune, did not know as well.
So, please do not summarize =)

You are saying: "It's a bit like saying the shop sold you 'fondue' mix but didn't tell you to add wine and garlic."
Very good example! First of all, you come to the shop and say that you want to make fondue first time in your life, which ingredients you need to have?
And if still he forgot to sell you wine or garlic, you call this shop later, saying that you are not satisfied with fondue, what would he or his colleague (first time he forgot, maybe his colleague will add something) recommend to add?
In the end if you still dont like this shop fondue receipt (just mixed, without garlic and wine), you try to find the "best" receipt by yourself (internet or etc, now I am more experienced and it will be second fondue for me).
That's why I went to another company and checked three times what I sign.
And I will never go to this CSS shop anymore.

If you come to my country, some companies would cheat on you, some would not. Depends on the company.
I had a bad experience with CSS, you had a good one, happy for you.

I had a similar issue as the OP but with speed limits.
Nobody told me that the speed limits are in kmh instead of mph.
So, after a couple of months where I always complied to the limits, a lot of traffic fines came in. Of course I complained at the police but they just laughed at me. Can you believe that? How could I know it was kmh? I think these kind of rules should be made clear to you when you entered the country.

Hey, I was not being unsupportive- but it is probable that some foreigners in your country will get caught out by not being 'au fait' with the system- is all I am saying- and that all over the world. Truly, I am sorry you had a bad experience and hope it all gets sorted soon.

I had all sorts of similar issues when I first lived in the UK- it takes a while to get used to a new way of doing things! Worst is that I nearly got run over so many times for looking the wrong way ... and indeed all sorts of other issues when I moved back after a lifetime in the UK ... I do remember one very nice ex mod taking the Mick when I first joined saying something like 'and now we even have to answer questions from the Swiss!' , lol.

Many people have also been caught out by not realising that Health Insurance does not include 'accident insurance' that has to be separate.

But as said, it does not make CSS fraudulent in their intentions or actions.

I did try to cancel it, I contacted your CSS in beginning of 2015. But I was told that I can cancel only in the end of the year.
Then in September 2015 I wrote a letter to cancel insurance.
You procrastinated for approx 6 months to cancel?
