| | Atupri - for the basic health insurance? Experience anyone?
Would you guys recommend Atupri as the Basic health insurance? They come out far less expensive than other ones for me (PLZ 8045) but I cannot find much Information on how easy and fast is it to get reimbursements.. or General Service. Below link Shows that Concordia, KPT and Swica are the best in Terms of customer satisfaction but they are on the pricier side for me...
(am not sure yet on what additional insurance i will get, and want a hassle free basic insurer..)
thanks guys. http://www.kpt.ch/SiteCollectionDocu...itsumfrage.pdf |

KPT HMO are cheap! KPTwin.plus http://www.priminfo.ch/praemien/index.php?sprache=d
There are different tariffs for doctors, and if you choose, by accident or design, the more expensive doctor
then the insurance premiums will ultimately be a little bit more expensive.
If you choose the HMO or HMA options you save a lot of money by going to one on a list of approved doctors.
I use Visana HMO and I promise Visana I will use Sanacare, which is a modern GP practice.
My Sanacare in Bern has about 12 doctors and 14 nurses, with at least 3 secretaries. http://www.sanacare.ch/htm/praxen.ht...&pid=3&navid=3
I have been treated by 4 of these doctors, but I could have waited for my regular one.

I'm with Atupri since 4 years. They are honest, and helpful. reimbursements come in time, never needed to complain. The service centers have operators who speak English (SC Zurich) and French (SC Lausanne), are very friendly and get stuff done efficiently.
I insured my daughter there too, the wife will join in next year.
As you said they are much cheaper, it makes a huge difference for the family!

Am with them since I was forced to take a local insurer. Never had any issues with them however have never had to make a claim or contact them for any reason.

I was with them for 2 years, i had a few hiccups with them. One time Uninspital Zürich double charged them and since i was under my deductible, atupri double charged me. I only noticed the discrepancy because the amounts were the same. I had been two times to the hospital, and thought it was weird that both bills were for the same amount. When reading the treatment protocol, i noticed that they both referenced the same date. I called atupri to notify them of this. The guy on the phone insisted that the charge was legitimate and that hospitals always split up their bills in half. I knew this was bs because i know approximately what health care costs are. However, I didnt know who to turn to, to resolve the issue. (the amount was 200-300 chfs, not worth hiring a law student, much less a lawyer)
About 2 months later I received a letter from them, that during an audit, they had detected that I was double charged and they had successfully reversed the payment to the hospital. They were pleased to inform me that I would be refunded the money in 14 days....and i was
The whole experience made me a little leery of them, how can a company exist that doesn't have some sort of mechanism to detect overcharging? I had luck, but them money i could have lost may have been better spent on a company with better detection mechanisms

I have had a very good experience with Atupri. There were some medical expenses I incurred that technically they did not have to cover and i was expecting them not to which they reimbursed for which I was very grateful as they were in the early 4 digit figures!
They also always reimburse quickly and are helpfu.

Bureaucratically I've done well with Atupri. Prompt service and decently low premiums.

Hi,
Me, my wife and my 4 year old son (since his birth) are with Atupri for both basic and complementary insurance. They are prompt, cheap and less of a hassle.
In fact their complimentary insurance is quite competitive and comprehensive in coverage.
I would certainly recommend.

Also have Atupri both for basic and Halbprivat. Decent prices, they return money promptly, and also at least in Zürich office you can find English speaking personnel.

I have been with them for the last 6 years and have very good experience. Very prompt service for reimbursements and paying bills, very nice service. Also used some of their special insurances which made a lot of sense at the time to save costs.
Highly recommended from a service and cost / benefit perspective!

Atupri raised my premium by 50CHF in the 5th year.
Never been a fan of Insurance.
They're all money making machines who sell fear.
They made sure they won't allow you to cancel whenever you want, only once a year because that way, they keep you trapped. Soon, it will be possible to cancel from one month to another, and we should be done with this magnates who milk the population in the name of mandatory health.
Can't wait for the masses to make up and realise what the system is doing to the individual and challenge them! We need a revolution!

I agree that private companies should have nothing to do with basic healthcare.

I think Swiss health care is incredibly good and pretty decent value for money. Certainly compared to back home with the NHS.
c. 2500 CHF a year for an adult once I shopped for a decent deal - that's not much and less than I'd be paying in the UK for a much worse service.

Hey I posted in this thread in 2013, and I'm still with Atupri today!
I've had no issues with them during this time. Had surgery this year and everything was billed correctly despite me screwing up how telemed works!
My premium back in 2013 was around 189.-/month for the highest franchise; this year I'm paying 290.- for the highest franchise.
