Which insurance is for end of tenancy stuff?

Apologies for being dense, and also not being able to find the answer to this elsewhere! Is it private liability insurance that you use to claim if your landlord takes money from your damage deposit? I'm hoping this will not happen but it pays to be prepared!

Thanks.

Yes that's the one. Read the small print in the policy.

First said deposit may be used for covering any damages that need repairing/repainting of walls/replacing of stuff etc.

If the deposit wouldn't cover it, then it is the liability insurance you need to inform, which will cover the damages, usually minus the 200 CHF deductible(?) the amount of CHF you have to pay yourself

You need to inform liability insurance straight away if there are costs you have to cover. You want your deposit back, it's only meant for when you run away (disappear, happens more often than not) or refuse to pay the bills.

Private liability insurance - check your insurance contract for details; "Mietsache" would be the magic term.
