Broken Toilet

We have had our toilet broken. I have contacted my health insurance to check if this is covered. Seems like I do not pay a private liability insurance, does this mean I have no other choice than to pay the bill myself? Thank you.

What the hell has health insurance got to do with the toilet being broken ?

With no liability insurance, yes you will have to pay for the damage you caused.

The OP may have (had) several insurance products with the same provider as their health insurance.

Without knowing who broke the toilet (if anyone) or who it belongs to, we really can't know that the OP must definitely pay everything.

How did it break/what part of it is broken?
Who does the toilet belong to?

What's broken?
Toilets are usually pretty cheap to fix if it's a mechanism thing.
If you've cracked the bowl though, it will be a bit more work.

Which bit of this can't you understand ?

"Seems like I do not pay a private liability insurance"

Maybe somebody will be nice and come along and explain it to you.

We do not know in what way the toilet has been broken, who (if anyone) caused the damage, nor in what state it is in. We also do not know who the toilet even belongs to.
What part of that do you not understand?

I agree.
In case the OP would have had a case of diarrhea that was so bad that the toilet broke, it may very well be a case for the health insurance.

Broke toilet, contacted health insurance. The mind boggles.

If the damage is a result of your fault and not a mechanical or structural failure then yes of course you have to pay for it, why wouldn't you?

Get house insurance like normal people. https://www.smile-direct.ch/de-CH?er...FUq3GwodOMcAaw

Just to name three

I just do not know what the owner of the toilet maters, except that liability insurance won't pay for your own stuff you damaged yourself.

Call the human rights!!!

I had an "accident" on the toilet, looked like worse than a nuclear disaster.
I called the accident insurance and they refuse to cover the cleaning cost (which looks will require an hour of scrubbing at least!!)

Where is the world coming too?

My insurance (Smile-Direct which I linked above) pays for anything I damage myself, from toilets to times a locksmith has to break into my house.
