Favorite Health Insurance Right Now?

I am wondering what is the best insurance right now?

Single male, no dependents. No health issues.

Thanks!

Re: Favorite Health Insurance Right Now?

You can't actually switch until the next premium adjustment (conditions yet to be published) becomes effective. So there's no way to answer your question in a manner that is usable by you.

That said, nothing keeps you from giving notice now already. You can always stay if you change your mind.

Re: Favorite Health Insurance Right Now?

Depends what you consider 'value'.

The basic requirements are generally all the same. I found Assura to be the cheapest.

The basic 'value' options are: go to any doctor right away, or call them first for a pre-diag and find out which doctor you need to go to for coverage.

The higher value come in more luxurious rooms and hospital stays--if needed, and some other non-mandatory perks.

in a nutshell.

Re: Favorite Health Insurance Right Now?

After much thought and comparisons I decided for CSS and am super happy with them (arcosana to be precise, but there is no difference apart from the price). I did get a bit of a discount as I insured my whole family, which would not apply to you but still.

Deciding factors were: cheap but established, english interface, clear policy, good telemed (I need 24/7 as I never have time to see a doctor).

You need to study different policies though there are nuances as mentioned earlier. Some give you nice contribution towards glasses if you wear them, some towards gym memberships that is great value, some have superb international cover package if you like being treated abroad.

Hope this helps.

Afaik that only applies to complementary insurance. Basic insurance you can switch every year by giving notice.

Few tips based on personal experience*:

- Meet someone responsible in the insurance company in person and understand what they offer
- Use comparis, moneyland.ch and many more sites which gives you godo overview on costs
- Stay away from "agents" who sell you great deals
- Look at the period of contract, basic can be changed every year however the riders usually have a 5 year term and tough to get out
- Stay away from "companies" who cold calls you to review your policy and get you a better deal

*I went for a great deal from one of the "agents" who cold called me.
