Mandatory health insurance without employment?

Hello,

I've not yet found solid answer(s) to this situation.

My partner who moved to Switzerland with me from August does not have employment, I understand I will still need to pay for the monthly insurance for her.

Since she doesn't even have the permit yet (still being processed) and we recently changed cantons from GE to VD (and applied for new permit), will it be backdated? Will there be any cost reductions for her?

What would be the best course of action?

Thank you

No subsidies

If you can't afford it, then............no permit

Beware that accident insurance is separate, so make sure you have both, health and accident.

Re: Mandatory health insurance without employment?

And yes normally it wil be backdated to the date of entry.

Since you have to pay for everything for her, and you knew this when you applied I assume this wil be no problem at all.

Not really separate, rather an option on your health insurance.
