Any experience with Assura?

Hi

Do you have any experience with insurance Assura? I'm actually with the KPT but if I change to Assura, I have to possibility to safe about 700CHF pro year.

The insurance Assura seams quite cheap compare to the other insurances. I'm going to chose the "Family doctor" model.

Do you have any suggestion for me?

Thanks
DAFO

Re: Any experience with Assura?

Have been using Assura for last 6 years without any issues. The only problem is that they don't pay for the medicines or doctor directly via the card but you will have to first pay it yourself and then ask for refund if it goes above your franchise limit.

Usually I compile all the receipts and send them at the end of the year. It just a hassle to keep all docs till that time.

Assura is good. Have them myself. Simply keep all receipts and when its more than your franchise send them off to assura

You can submit them online now, no need to hold them until the end of the year.

Not true! One fills out the form and sends the receipts BY POST when one has paid more than franchise.

Well, I guess that means that all the on-submissions I’ve done over the last three years have been an illusion. And their payments to me must be an illusion as well.

Nope, they have moved into the 21st century and allow for online submissions of receipts these days.
Maybe you should try doing the same? You could save yourself the cost of a stamp and an envelope.

Do you get your Assura bills for the monthly insurance online? Can one choose whether one can make receipt submissions online but NOT get monthly bills for insurance online. Or does one have to do everything online with no choice?

Re: Any experience with Assura?

Thanks a lot for all your answers!

If I'm right, the "price-reduction for low-income" (Prämienverbilligung) is independent from the insurance. If I'm with KPT or Assura I should get the same price-reduction, isn't?

Thanks

Re: Any experience with Assura?

I don't even send Assura my receipts anymore. For some reason the clinic I go to sends them directly to Assura, and then Assura bills me after. I always thought Assura did not allow this but indeed they do. Depends on the provider and what type of agreement they have with Assura.

Right. If you go to a hospital then the bill goes straight to Assura. Health insurance in CH stinks! The money you pay just goes to pay the wages of the CEO''s of these insurance companies.

It was not a hospital. Just some random clinic.

I get my bills on line. I haven’t tried online submissions yet, so it’s definitely possible to choose how you want to proceed.

I also have a family account, which means I get hubby’s bills on the same account, plus the kids when they were still with Assura. Quite nice to have a global view on all health related costs.

I prefer not to have any view at all. This health insurance price makes me want to vomit

Re: Any experience with Assura?

As I understand, the obligatory (basic) insurance is for all insurances the same.
So, why should I pay more if I finally have the same benefits?

Re: Any experience with Assura?

I'm with Assura and I was able to submit bills online. I started doing this after they LOST bills sent by post. The trick was that they did not provide a link in the customer portal to do this, as you might expect. Instead, you had to use the "contact me" link, and enter your policy number yourself:

https://www.assura.ch/fr/services-su...-ligne/contact
