[Swica] higher rates than signed (digitally)

Hi. I am new here.

I signed a contract with these guys (249CHF/Month) after they called me with a special offer from the gym where I am registered. Then they sent me a letter asking for my bank connection (IBAN). And the week after I receive another letter with the real costs that are higher (almost 300CHF).
I was paying 250CHF on the other company. Am I stupid?

Can I do anything at all in thus circumstances?Cancel the police or go for another one?
I am afraid not.

Thanks

Re: Zwica: higher rates than signed (digitally)

Read the contract to be certain about what you signed up for, and after that if they are wrong call them that you want to be billed according to contract.

Further actions depend on their reaction.

Re: Zwica: higher rates than signed (digitally)

Thanks. I don't think I can do anything because I signed the contract on a touch screen in his computer and I didn't receive any copy of the documents. So they could change it how they wanted.

It was really suspectfull that they sent me a short letter asking just for the IBAN and a sign, without mentioning the "new" rate.

After a year I'll change to another health insurance. But I will never come back.

I could not read the whole contract in his screen.
He showed me the monthly rate and what's in the insurance included and I signed on the screen. This is the first time I sign in this way so I asked. And the guy told me that the do it digital nowadays...

I was too naive and this happened.
Just don't trust in the insurance guys with their modern laptops.

Make sure you cancel by registered post 3 months before contract renewal date

Could indeed be Swica. If somebody does not even know the correct name, they are more likely to fall into some scam.

Why "a special offer from the gym where I am registered"?

Who called? A Swica agent? Which is very unlikely in case of basic health insurance.

Do you have a business card from the agent?

How did you sign "on a touch screen in his computer" if you were called on phone?

Did you get a print out? Did your request one? Why not?

Why an additional "short letter asking just for the IBAN and a sign[ature]"?

From whom?

Is this basic or supplementary insurance?

In case of basic insurance did you check the rates on the official website from the Swiss government? https://www.priminfo.admin.ch/

Edit to add: Which is your gym, why do they sell your information, and did you check with them if they indeed forwarded your contacts to some sleazy scum bags?

If it involves a gym membership it might be supplimental so the OP may have more time to cancel.

That seems most likely. Swica offer 500 and 800 on gym membership, depending on which supplementary insurance you go for.

Yes, that's how it goes.
They offer a discount if you are in basefit.

Any chance the higher premium you see is the price of the insurance + the cost of the basefit membership? I ask because it seems like they go hand in hand.

Re: [Swica] higher rates than signed (digitally)

You have 14 days right of withdrawal after signing. But probably you have signed the offer with the 2019 premiums and now they will increase it by next year (2020 premiums) and that's why you have to pay a bit more.

I'm working as an insurance broker and we're also working together with Swica and if you want I can probably help you or check why the premium is higher then before.

Just let me know.

It doesn't sound like swica-style to me. Was it an independent sales guy? If so, I would contact swica, tell them the story and see what they say.

If you are an insurance broker than you should know that since most premiums in Zürich are going down how incredible unlikely it is that Swica will raise with 20%
