Ikea Household Insurance - "Hemsäker"

Ikea Switzerland has begun offering household insurance called "Hemsäker" (secure home) on its website. SwissRe is Ikea Switzerland's partner in this venture. Translation of the first link below:

"Insure yourself and your family the way it suits you, with HEMSÄKER household and personal liability insurance.

HEMSÄKER is uncomplicated and flexible. You can simply take it out online, put together what you need yourself and cancel at any time. This way you are financially covered if your belongings are damaged or if, for example in an accident, you cause damage to someone else.

As an IKEA Family Member, HEMSÄKER household insurance gives you an IKEA gift card worth CHF 20.00 for each year without damage."

Re: Ikea Household Insurance - "Hemsäker"

I was looking into this as well. Quite interesting. Obviously the underwriter is a different company. I have no experience with this but did get an online quote that was substantially lower than what I currently have. In the end, due to difference in coverage and my personal situation, I decided to stay with Mobiliar (my current insurer). Just my 2 cents...
