Family doctor scheme and an English speaking doctor in Lausanne

Hi everyone,

I tried searching for it but couldn't find anything in previous threads.

- When getting the basic health insurance they ask to assign a family doctor as soon as possible on the form on the website.
If I assign one now, is it possible to change later? (there's a list of doctors on Assura's website but obviously I don't know which one to choose).

- And on that note, can anyone recommend a good English speaking doctor in Lausanne?

Thanks in advance!

You can change whenever you want as long as the doctor figures on the approved list of doctors.

In 35 years Iíve only encountered 1 Doctor that claimed not to speak English, and I think he was telling a porky pie. Very common with doctors, regrettably less common with their support staff.

Sorry, not for Lausanne. Nyon and Geneva.

There are quite a few doctors here who donít really speak English well enough to communicate with patients but we are less international than Lausanne or Geneva I guess.
It is pretty rare to come across a receptionist or practice assistant etc who speakers competent English here.
