Why was I paid less days from the Unemployment Insurance (Chômage)?

Hi all, I have a question to ask:

Since this July, I started enjoying the Chômage. I just received the payment details and I found I was paid 10 days less (13 days instead of 23 days) and it was written as "Jours amortis Délais attente Gén: 10 jours". Does it mean that these 10 days were taken out as a punishment on something I did wrong or just a delay of payment which they will pay later?

If it'd be the first case, I couldn't think of a reason. I did all the things and submitted all the papers they required. A few weeks ago I even asked the caisse (UNIA) if anything else I needed to submit and they told me my files were completed. I also sent my job reseaching form before the date they asked by email to ORP (doc.orp@ne.ch). Anything wrong?

P.s. I had a CDD contract for over a year which was terminated at the end of June. I heard from somewhere that usually we should start to look for job three months before the CDD contact finishes. I didn't do it because my contract was supposed to be extended, but it didn't happen because of the Covid. I explained the situation, my previous company also provided me some evidence that I and the HR were actively looking for oppotunities inside the company since March. I showed them the letter and they seemed fine with it.

Anyone knows / had similar experience?

Thanks a lot!
LW

Various reasons, probably you didn't start looking at least three months early.

In your first month there is a stand-down time that varies according to your circumstances -this is non-negotiable and is different to any penalties that might have been imposed. Your adviser should be able to help.

The 10 days mentioned are general wait days and are not penalty days.

Good luck with your good search!

There is a lead in time as people have mentioned. This is usually 10 days. There are fines as well for messing up or sending somthing late. As its your first one I wouldnt worry. I am sure now it should all be fine

On your pay slip you will see the remaining days you have left. As far as I know you have 400 days paid within 2 years. So with the lead in time and even the fines, these days arent lost. They just arent paid when you 'worked' looking for a job. They will be added on to the end of your term on the RAV/chomage

They will be lost if your time on the unemployment exceeds the 2 years and you still have remaining days.

In basic terms if you have 18 months worth of chomage payments (400 days = 18 months) They have just fined you or given you a 10 day lead in time. If everything remains the same you will be paid by the chomage for 18 months and 2 weeks. If you were to get another 10 day fine. You would have lets say 19 months of chomage payments...and so on until you hit 24 months when it stops no matter what.

Yes, they are lost.
