2 vehicles 1 plate... or not

I know you can have 2 vehicles on 1 plate, insured on one policy and only 1 on the road at any time. I was going to get another car and my insurer gave me a quote to add it to my van policy etc, but I changed my mind and as I hardly do any miles anymore. Now thinking about a bike (yes I am of a certain age). However my insurer (Zürich) tells me it's not possible, so does the 2 vehicles thing only apply to cars and vans?

...and your question is? I guess the Zurich will know as much as anyone here...

You can only share plates between vehicles in the same class.

Question would be the bit before the ?:D As I was given a quote to add a car to my van contract, but they can't add a bike, just clarification from the Jedi on here the general rule before I get into it with Zürich.

Ah, ok, so vans and cars are the same class, bikes not... fair enough, and sounds reasonable I guess. thanks for that

Just look at the license plate of a motorbike, than look at the license plate of a car. See the difference? If not: The plate of a motorbike is smaller. Alone due to this fact the license plate cannot be shared.

i though the plates on bikes were just the squarer type as opposed to the oblong. Every days a school day as my old dad used to say.

As you can even have the same number for a bike plate as for a car plate (a problem for foreign countries who take the plate picture and send the fine to the wrong person), this is not possible.
