I didn’t think it applied to the supplementary health insurance which is why people take it out whilst younger and healthy and stick with it.

Most health insurance policies I have seen indeed would say something like "insurers waives it's right to cancel etc" so would agree.

though ok looking at exact wording it might not apply to _health_ insurances - not clear what a Teilschaden would be in that case to invoke this clause. but otherwise yes this applies to all insurances from all companies - it's the insurance _law_. except KVG that has its special law.

It is September for CSS (and most other companies') complementary, which is what this thread is about.

And as with everything else important & official send it as a registered letter.

I'd check first if giving notice by phone is accepted from the number you gave as yours, or online when logged into your account. I canceled my Swisscom contract by phone for instance, phoning from the number the contract is for, and got confirmation by email immediately, all done and concluded in a few minutes.

Generally speaking, and unless it's a contractual condition, you don't need registered mail to give notice. You only need single-sided proof (the receipt for the registered letter) if something went wrong and you don't get the contract partner's confirmation (which is proof of them receiving the notice so keep it). If there's enough time to react in case something does go wrong there's usually no need to spend the 6.- for the registered mail; that might have applied if, for instance, minimimi had asked early in the month.

You only have a few days, so don't waste time.
