Thanks a lot for the article!! it's really interesting to know why the medicines are so expensive around here. I checked the list and I have a pharmacy that doesn't charge that close by. I guess that for medicines that your doctor isn't prescribing is more convenient.

Some cantons don’t have the option of getting medicines from the doctor, Neuchâtel being one if them, so we are obliged to got to the pharmacy for ours.

Meloncollie- I feel your frustration about paying the fee for the vet meds. Personally, I would take your complaint further to find the answer.

However, as both of us living in rural areas (right?) I truly do not begrudge the normal fee charged for registering with one pharmacy and them checking compability, dosage, etc- as a double check. It is a small fee- and if it helps rural pharmacies to survive and remain, then I am all for it. Pharmacies are being lost every day to rural villages, and especially for the elderly, it is a disaster.
