Selling my car -- allowing test drive -- insurance

I'm selling my car privately.

In Switzerland, does my car's existing insurance cover a potential buyer who wants to test drive (once I make a photo of his license, while staying with him in the car).

Should I get him to sign that he'll pay any applicable deductible/franchigia/excess in case of an accident?

In Switzerland it is the car that is insured, not the driver.

They will be insured if they have a licence valid in Switzerland. Although you can add a clause to your insurance that only people over 25 I think can drive, so you might want to check out if you have that limitation on your insurance.

Re: Selling my car -- allowing test drive -- insurance

3rd party liability insurance will nearly always pay (exception if property of the driver was damaged y or the property of very close relatives such as parents or children).

For damage on your car, bonus loss, and deductibles see Code of Obligations starting at Art. 41

Where the most important part is:
Quote:
Any person who unlawfully causes damage to another, whether wilfully or negligently, is obliged to provide compensation.
