If you don't find your own insurance. they will sign you up and it might not be the cheapest option.

For the bill, you can always ask for a payment plan over several months.
As I am now waiting for KVG's answer regarding the potential exception for health insurance, I am quite sure they at least should not give me the most expensive option. Or at least I hope that will be the case.

Yes, I am aware of this. I am a person who cannot sleep if I realize I did not water the plants, so of course, I will pay anything I must pay. I fully understand the ethics behind it.

I am just wondering if there is a way they will accept my country's insurance. That's my last hope. 4 months of insurance is ca. 1000 chf, trust me, not an insignificant amount for me.

Thanks for the reply.
If you are confident you will not need it, get the highest franchise and the cheapest quote possible. Yes it might still be around 1k, but comparis might find you something cheaper.

I had no insurance for years, but that was before they made it obligatory in 1997.

Tom

Good for you.
