They live in Switzerland. The country is called Switzerland. Not swiss. Swiss would the the adjective to describe a Swiss person or the Swiss language. Swissness is another good one.

;)

What you are looking for is an insurance for "frontaliers". If you can read French there's plenty of information on http://www.frontalier.com/

To get an answer, you'll have to supply more information - ie: what sort of insurance...

Hi,
I am too looking for frontailer health insurance. We live in France but hubby works in Switzerland and kids go to school there. The kids need an insurance that is valid both in Switzerland and France. We got a quote for one special frontalier insurance from Credit Mutuel for the whole family but it is very expensive and they keep telling me that this is our only option. I don't believe it is and am trying to look for other options.

We are originally from another EU country and my husband and I have foreign policies that would cover us everywhere but the kids are not included in this. It seems that it is impossible to get an insurance just for the two kids. Has anybody had any experience with frontalier insurances?

Regards,
Anne

plenty, just google assurance frontalier. Mine is from Allianz, PM if you want the agent's name. 100 eur per month, no deductible, everything covered including glasses and dental. Brilliant. I can also recommend doctors and dentists.

Hello Ullainga,
I have just received our new premium payments for our cross-borde insurance: CHF300 a month increase for a family of 4. Please let me have the contact detail for your broker.

hi , thanks contacted Joelle; one more thing,
I was not sure if I should go for Swiss option or not; e.g. if there are plenty of doctors in around St Luis area then one should not need to go to Basel for treatment. Although the presence of university hospital makes it a useful option to have.

There is a 200 euro Per Month difference (for whole family) between France-only and France+Swiss cover.

thanks for the information on the subject

I didn't (can still be treated in Switzerland in emergency, of course).
You might have to go to Mulhouse for some specialists, but there are plenty in Saint Louis as well, from maternity to chemotherapy and everything in between.
If you need to speak English with them then the Swiss option would be a good idea, as most Swiss doctors speak english, French ones rarely do. They speak German though in Alsace.

Also SwissLife's Swiss Sante offers pretty good cover both for France and Switzerland. The monthly cost is less than that of a similar Allianz cover + they cover 100% costs in Suisse.
