So I have a weird situation that has come up. I will need to go to Switzerland and buy a car and then drive it back to the UK to pick up my dog.

The problem is this, how on earth do I buy a car in Switzerland and insure it before living there? I'm going to buy the car cash so that's not a big issue but the registration and insurance for a car before I have my work permit finalized seems tricky...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Why dont you ask your dog to hop on a plane, it got from miami beach to the UK on its own?

I had a feeling it might be too far out there I guess I'll drive him over in my UK car and then get a Swiss one. Flying him from the US costs $150 but flying him in Europe costs €1,000... I don't think they have room for dogs his size in the A319's they fly around here.

Quarantine is pretty much a thing of the past (as long as the rules are followed). Both USA to UK and UK to CH are covered by the PETS Travel Scheme.

Yup, it is about €1,000 no matter how I slice it so I'm going to drive him out. Plus I have a bunch of other junk that needs to come with us.
