I usually get my dental treatments annually done abroad but it is getting difficult.
Is it possible to get a dental insurance without mandatory certification by a dentist?
Intras has such a scheme with a 6-month waiting period and seems very attractive if a situation is expected to arise it that time-frame. The catch seems to be that the monthly premiums are one of the highest.
Sympany offers various grades. Although a formal certification is not mandatory, you have to personally fill in all the required details & a checkup should have been conducted in the past 12 months before applying for the insurance.

I don't think anyone will give you insurance without a check-up first, it would be a bit like the in insurance company signing a blank cheque. If indeed you did manage to find a company willing to do it, i think the policy would be so full of exceptions and caveats avoiding payout that it would be as good as useless anyway.
