I've been in Switzerland since April last year and using my G Permit chose to have medical cover in France.

Now moving over to Zurich, exchanging my G Permit for a B Permit and my family (wife and two children) will join me within the next month or so. I'd like to sort out medical cover in Switzerland for them ASAP.

Does anyone know if I can start this process while my wife and children are still resident in France? And has anyone had dealings with a Swiss assurer who will process claims made in France?

This is not a long term situation, just a short overlap, but I don't want the CPAM and RAM claims in France to be rejected and not have cover in Switzerland.

Yes, it is no problem. It is actually the rule that if you have dependants abroad but within EU, they should be covered by a Swiss insurance.
