That's great. Of course it depends on the "service des automobiles". Some are overbooked, some are not...

Our's is really booked delay is minimum 1 month...

The problem is that I have no insurance right now... and I'd rather have full coverage though, because the car is just 1 year old - not because of the crime but in case I have an accident. Anyway, regardless of the type of insurance I do need one and don't know how to get it!
Hi Doty,

Where did you bring the car in from? EU or Non EU? It makes a big difference.

I got my car insured with Zurich while waiting for the test and still with Irish plates using this broker: www.nvc.ch. They were very helpful.
When was this? A lot of our legislation has changed recently...

Many thanks for your reply!
In customs they said: Zurich provides temporary insurance, but only third party liability insurance.
This is totally untrue and indeed almost the opposite to the facts.. (depending once again where the car has come in from)

Hi I just signed an insurance contract with nvc for a a bike I'm importing this week, it has just been taxed and MOT'd in the UK for a year and is on UK registration plates. I simply had to supply the VIN and engine number and they provided cover. On comparison with Zurich connect the quotes were like for like.

Re: Non-Swiss Registered Car Insurance

Hey Zane,

Just curious, is the bike remaining on UK plates or are you actually "importing" it and having it matriculated on the Swiss system to get Canton plates?
