Translator for health insurance info.

Hey,

Can anyone recommend a translator to assist with a load of information we have recently received from Sanitas (Helsena) that is currently in German, French and Italian. ( Same info in triplicate - they don't supply the detail in English). They have been recommended to us in addition to another provider. We're faced with either putting in the effort in trying to get to the bottom of the detail or making a decision of convenience which won't necessarily be the best one in the long run.

Thanks
Jen

Re: Translator for health insurance info.

Hi Jen,

I have a suggestion. Your best bet would be to maybe come along to one of the drinks evenings which are organised (I believe there is one coming up on the 9th). Bring such papers with you and after a couple of drinks ask if anyone would mind helping you. There will surely be some native speakers around, and if not there will probably be some expats who have a high enough level of German to assist you. Glancing over a document over a couple of beers is probably the best way to assist you rather than trying to get it done via email, phone etc.

Re: Translator for health insurance info.

Hi

Good idea and was keen to come to the drinks on the 9th only its the first day of "entertaining" visitors and think it may be a little unfair to abandon them for the evening. I've read that the drinks evenings are going to be frequently organised so here to the next session!
Cheers
J

Re: Translator for health insurance info.

Hi there,

Checking some information from my Insurance (ÖKK), I found that most of their information in their website is in english, including the General Provisions for the Basic Insurance. This comes very handy, as it is the same for all insurance companies: PDF

I called the company later the same day, and ordered additional information in english. I got a couple of brochures, quotes and fees and the contract ... all in english :-)

SWICA also provides information in english:

Hope that helps
