Does basic Swiss health insurance cover bone density testing?

I've searched here and elsewhere but can't seem to find an answer. Thanks. =)

I also need to know, so hope somebody answers. If not, the most logical way would be addressing your GP or calling up a local hosp, maybe an orthopedist would tell you if you tell him your troubles, I am sure they are used to dealing with questions like these..

Re: Does basic Swiss health insurance cover bone density testing?

I would think it might be if there were specific reasons for testing, family history, age and own health history and the like. Certainly the best way to be absolutely sure though is to ask your own insurance folk (preferably with a written answer)!

Re: Does basic Swiss health insurance cover bone density testing?

I do believe so. It seems to me that bone density is linked to hormonal balance ?
If you feel this needs to be covered, why not ask your gynocologist to send you in for testing ?
