Re: Pete Postlethwaite 1946-2011

Thats sad, I thought he was a good actor. And 64 is not that old to die these days.

Damn shame that. Ironically his last role as far as I'm aware of was playing the dying father in Inception.

a great versatile actor.

I heard that he had just finished a film with Ben Affleck where he played a Chicago mob boss or something. I'll check it out.

He was such a great actor. Great comedic timing as well. I was just watching him in Jurassic Park 3 over Xmas and mentioned to my wife that he has been in loads of movies etc...

Just checked and he made the Affleck film "The Town" last year and has another coming out this year called "Killing Bono". http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1535101/

Re: Pete Postlethwaite 1946-2011

Really sad.
I remember him mostly for his portrayal of Mr. Kobayashi in "The Usual Suspects".

May he rest in peace.

Re: Pete Postlethwaite 1946-2011

Sad news indeed.

From the BBC.

"Postlethwaite was once described by director Steven Spielberg, whom he worked with in films including The Lost World: Jurassic Park, as "the best actor in the world"."

Great actor, great nose.. and an old boy of my grammar school. Will be sadly missed.

p.s.

Try to find him in one of his last roles playing an Irish gangster in the 'The Town' set in Boston.. horribly great
