Mysterious deaths of birds and fish

ABC News

Quote:
The mystery of the dying birds deepened for baffled experts after another 500 birds were found littering a Louisiana highway days after 5,000 redwinged blackbirds plunged to their death on New Year's eve.
BBC News

Quote:
Dozens of dead birds have been found lying in a residential street in Sweden, days after thousands of birds fell to their deaths in the US.
Brisbane Times

The Washington Post

Quote:
Dozens dead in Sweden, hundreds washed ashore in New Zealand. Is the world witnessing the end of days or is this just a case of coincidence fueled by wild speculation?
Ever since residents of Beebe, Ark. woke up on New Year's Day to thousands of blackbirds that dropped mysteriously from the sky, a rash of other sudden-animal deaths have been reported furiously around the world. In a nearby Arkansas town, thousands of fish washed ashore on Monday. On Tuesday, another bout of 500 blackbirds were found dead in Baton Rouge, La.
Opinion anyone? Speculations other than the Apocalypse?

My opinion is that you should post a short summary of each story, makes it a better thread.

Personally I blame rap music.

EDIT: Just read the washingtonpost link

Re: Mysterious Birds & fishes Death

Common phenomenon. Most likely is a poisoning, typically a farmer laying down seed with pesticide or baits for foxes or rats...

Otherwise, adverse weather conditions, large flock migrating, hitting powerlines in the dark, firecrackers, sudden wind from the wrong direction...strong/wind rain and they literally drop out of the sky...

Re: Mysterious Birds & fishes Death

back in the mid 70's I think it was it snowed blue snow* in a couple of block area of my home town.

first reaction was " Oh , isn't that interesting " but it soon became apparent that the local chemical plant had released something it shouldnt have into the air.

I suspect something similar here.

When I was living in Cornwall, people in the area started getting mouth ulcers and some people's hair turned blue after washing it.
It transpired that 20000 gallons of Aluminium sulphate had accidentally been poured into the water supply .

So the birds and fishes came along and ate them and died?
How did they get to Cornwall - road or train?
Wouldn't people have noticed 500 blackbirds in a National Coach, heading for a George Jones style suicide pact?
Then how did they get back to Louisiana?

Could it be a small earthquake in those areas? Small enough to go unnoticed, large enough to cause trauma to those birds and have them fall from the sky dead.

Has anyone seen the movie "The Core"?

Re: Mysterious deaths of birds and fish

100 tons of dead fish wash ashore in Brasil, hundreds of dead snapper fish in New Zealand, Tens of thousands of dead fish in Chesapeake bay Maryland. 40,000 dead devil crabs in Kent bay. More dead birds in Kentucky and now Sweden. It must be the fireworks. Nothing to see here, move along.

Very dumb dumb question here... How fireworks can be responsable of the dead of fish and crabs?

Are you trying to say that the U.S government would lie to us? They say its fireworks so it MUST be the absolute truth. Like I said, nothing to see here so move along.

On a serious note this is starting to freak me out. No one has an explanation, no one knows why. Its just happening, all at the same time. I almost dont believe it cause I dont want too.

Has anyone blamed BP yet? Good, cause I will.

It is not the first time that some weird things happened without having explanation.

To believe then it is the end of the world, you have to believe in the Bible and in the religion.

I would guess more on something tested. Maybe some groups are testing some weapons, maybe it is the ecologist terrorists, etc...

Or maybe it is just a natural cause...

Either HAARP, chemtrails or the Earth is dying off at a very accelerated rate. I never did like wearing those foil hats, but maybe they are on to something. Better explanation than the bible.
