Re: Egypt- "Jan25_ Day of revolution"

Mahatma Gandhi.

In the words of Albert Einstein, “Mahatma Gandhi's life achievement stands unique in political history. He has invented a completely new and humane means for the liberation war of an oppressed country, and practiced it with greatest energy and devotion. The moral influence he had on the consciously thinking human being of the entire civilized world will probably be much more lasting than it seems in our time with its overestimation of brutal violent forces. Because lasting will only be the work of such statesmen who wake up and strengthen the moral power of their people through their example and educational works. We may all be happy and grateful that destiny gifted us with such an enlightened contemporary, a role model for the generations to come.”

Ghandi, Mandela and Martin Luther King live on. I was wrong to doubt.

This is also the day that Mandela was released from prison.

Instead of a very old Genral Egypt is ruled by an old general.

The Army has taken over.

You make it sound like there has been no progress in Egypt.

Given the nature of conscription in Israel, and the Israeli Old Boys network, I would assume the Army has been running Israel since it's bastardised inception.

A logical parry to your Zionist scorn of the progress made in Egypt this week.

Considering that you know very little about Israel and how it's run I'm not surprised that you think there was much progress made in Egypt.

I'll believe this progress when I see it - free elections, rule of law, freedom of press - that sort of thing. didn't happen yet, sorry.

Re: Egypt "Jan 25 - Day of revolution" [Update: Mubarak resigns]

I've just seen this on SwissInfo

Quote:
The Swiss cabinet has decided to block any funds that may be held in Switzerland by former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak who stepped down on Friday.
Quote:
It has published a decree asking Swiss banks to search for and freeze assets belonging to Mubarak and his family, a government spokesman said.
Also on the same page is a link to pictures of the diverse range of protective headgear worn by the protesters

Having never met me, or spoken to me, you know absolutely nothing about what I know.

FACT.

(I believe you hate fact based revelations, but they are unavoidable in the real world. Do keep up and try harder, your comments above are truly weak, even by your cranky standards.)

Well - you made some false assumptions about Israel which have nothing to with this thread. bring your Israel "arguments" to the Isr-Pal thread and I'll do to them what Arab leaders do to their people. fair enough ?

My feelings exactly, but you know he's right which is so irritating. keep an eye on that military, they may start doing doing deals. If the military supported Israel, wouldn't you be praising them!
