Re: Outdoor Adventures Whistler: Mass sled dog killing probed in B.C.

Yes. all my cats have been killers - but this is irrelevant here.

It was relevant to the discussion when someone said that only humans kill for fun.

Agreed, but not the original topic. Maybe best to go back to that. Thanks.

Sacrifice my life for someone unknown? I am human and I would never do that. Could be because I am not an emo kid
WSS, failed to read the quote from JLR's post.

Re: Outdoor Adventures Whistler: Mass sled dog killing probed in B.C.

Sad about the dogs, but even sadder is that humans killed 300 humans in Egypt this week,

"The public prosecutor's statement said other officials were covered by the ban, which would last "until national security is restored and the authorities and monitoring bodies have undergone their investigations".
Unrest has left about 300 people dead across the country over the past 10 days, according to UN estimates.
If Mr Mubarak does not step down, demonstrators have planned to march on the presidential palace on Friday."

I am on the Egypt thread and I am disgusted about it. But this as nothing to do with this topic, so let keep it about dogs.

One tragedy doesn't make an other tragedy looks better!

Yes. And so were you.

Anyway, what I'm not clear on is whether people are outraged about the killing of the dogs, or that the method used was alledgedly inhumane?

Yes but when someone acts all offended by one tragedy but then takes part is a similar tragedy then my hypocrisy siren goes off. The fact is that when you put a dead animal on your plate or wear it's skin it become ok for you but when you shoot it it is all omgwtf.

- Shoot with bolt gun/slit the throat in barbaric fashion millions of animals for food- A ok
- Shoot with bolt gun/slit the throat in barbaric fashion millions of animals for it's skin- A ok
- Line up and shoot 100 for not wanting the animal any more- OMG WTF let me start another thread.

Get a grip people!

I am outraged for:

-not having done a proper job to find place for those dogs to have a nice and healthy life

-not having contact authorities to organised something

-not made it public to find people to help out

-not having done all of that and just go straight to the mass kill option

-made a mass kill of the dogs without respecting any ethic

-dumping the dogs in a hole without making sure if they were all dead and leaving some with extreme suffer.

-reclaming some benefits because of repercussions on the guy's mental for doing it.

killing animals for food or skin isn't a plesent business, but slaughter houses do it the best way possible.

shooting 100 highly intelligent, trained, valuable, easily rehomable dogs by someone untrained to do it, and seemingly not very able or accurate is pretty barbaric, throwing them in a mass grave when still alive, well words fail me, would they have known what was happening?? of course.

Unfortunatly they would have just been considered company assets, and giving them away or selling them would have caused the company effort, paper work and tax implications, killing them was cheaper and eaiser, the world sucks.

Re: Outdoor Adventures Whistler: Mass sled dog killing probed in B.C.

The degeneration of these Threads remind me SO much of a kindergarten child who went wailing to the teacher,

"Miss, it all started when Bobby hit me back".

As I think all the various points have been made and I have no great enthusiasm for trying to separate the not-quite-so-guillty from the very-guilty, I am now closing this.
