Former President Bush's trip to CH cancelled due to protests.

Anybody at this forum who was looking forward to welcoming George W. Bush to Switzerland can make other plans---the trip has been cancelled.

The New York-based Center for Constitutional Rights and several European human rights groups said they were planning to file a complaint against Bush and wanted Swiss prosecutors to open a criminal case against him once he arrived in the country.
There's a really nice chalet (recently vacated) that he could stay at in the meantime..

The SVP for starters? Besides, I didn't say with WHAT people would welcome him with. Some posters might want to welcome him with a Bronx cheer.

Why would anyone welcome this idiot into Switzerland when the place is clearly already stawed out with idiots?

I assume that even within the SVP you'd find only very few people who like Dubbya.

I don't think he should be allowed to enter CH unless he has a biometric passport.

I've heard rumours that some Republicans have somehow managed to sneak into Switzerland. Perhaps they'd welcome him?

They've even got their own website.

Indeed or a bullet. Unfortunately he's already bred, so castrations not really available as a option. Although could be fun to attempt with a set of rusty pliers

Bummer, Suisse authorities should've played it lowkey and trapped the war monger on his arrival

It always amazed me that GWB became president of the USA without anyone voting for him...

Interestingly enough it has been reported that Dominique Baetttig an SVP member wrote a letter to the Bundesrat calling for the arrest of Bush. Then again it's not so surprising after all, as he is somewhat known to have "controversial" ideas, like calling for creating the possibility of a facilitated integration of bordering regions as swiss cantons or referring in great length about a study on the economical cost of animal/plant migration while asking the Bundesrat if the cost of human migration could be evaluated.

Re: Former President Bush's trip to CH cancelled due to protests.

"The Swiss authorities were notified of the error which was spotted by a leading member of the former President's security detail. Ever the eagle-eyed operative, the aforementioned close-protection secret service officer observed that former President George W Bush's air ticket was for Stockholm, Sweden rather than a Swiss airport. A White House spokesperson said that G.W.B. looks forward to visiting Switzerland when he lands at Matsapha International Airport as part of tour of sub-Saharan African countries later this year."
