It is illegal to perform a sex act on a boke. Why? Do you find bokes attractive? Sicko.

Anyway this really is only about them being allowed to apply for removal. If they're considered to be still potentially dangerous after 15 years the application is denied.

Stormy in this teacup, isn't it.
Indeed. Good ole Dave engaging in a bit of populist politics. Call it the lack of faith in the system if you will, but regardless of whether the bar for these reviews are set as high as possible, there will be some who will slither through the cracks.

Dunno. If I knew what a boke was, I might be able to comment...

and likewise there will be some people that are innocent of their crimes but have suffered miscarriages of justice, therefore everyone should have the right of their case to be reviewed.

The truth of the matter is, if the people got what they wanted, paedophiles would be lynched and shot, rapists would have their willies cut off and sex offenders in generally would do very well to come out of any "trial" alive.

Fortunately, the legal framework takes everyones rights into account, so no matter how much a particular crimer personally offends, that person still has the right to review and not be locked in the ivory tower forever.

And if I were in charge, people who pay in shrapnel in Migros, don't have enough, have to put back 3 items, then realise they have enough for the butter, take the butter back, ask for a new butter because it's gone soft by now and then return to have their points card swipes should be executed by vertical garroting. So let's all be glad cooler heads prevail.

Re: UK sex offenders can now apply to be removed from the Register.

Rights are absolute. They are not available to select groups of society. These rights are not political gifts or tools, nor are they up for nimby debate.
That is why they are called Human Rights, and not "I pay my taxes", "I vote Liberal" , "I'm a white honky who drives safely" rights.

They apply to all, equally. We do not choose who should and shouldn't have them.

Thank God.

I guess that most paedophiles fit in the "white liberals who drive safely demographic", of course interpreting liberal in the broadest possible sense.

No they're not. They're subject to debate.

Anyway, it's not really a problem. Redefine all people convicted of a crime as bokes (or other non-human) and then they've no rights to violate. Simples.

Yes but absolute by definition, if not reality. Then the discussion posed as follows: Do you agree that people who have been convicted of a crime, sentenced to a punishment and served that punishment, should continue to be punished?

so that people can lynch people they think are paedophiles. It was a populist lynch mob law brought in by a publicity pandering government.
