Steve Jobs, 6 weeks to live..

Earlier it was reported on Steve Jobs pictured walking out of the Stanford Cancer Center, where actor Patrick Swayze was once a patient before succumbing to cancer in 2009. Now they released pictures of Apple CEO Steve Jobs that show him looking more more thinner than usual.

Some newspapers go on to claim that Steve Jobs has "6 weeks to live", based on analysis by two doctors of the photos and the fact he lost 20kg in such a short time.

Of course it must be noted that neither of these two doctors have examined Steve Jobs in person, so we're going to dismiss such claims until concrete evidence turns up.
Steve Jobs take indefinite medical leave from Apple.

Despite Apple's Steve Jobs taking an indefinite leave of absence from Apple, he was recently spotted at Apple HQ and also is involved in the development of the next two Apple products, the iPhone Nano and iPad 3.

Many Apple customers hope he just had a bad hairday.

Re: Steve Jobs, 6 weeks to live..

Pancreatic cancer is one of the worst cancers to get. The survival rate is only about 4%.

Only 25% of patients can actually be operated on due to the complexity of the operation to remove the tumour.

There was a BBC radio 4 programme on it earlier this week.

I was just pointing out that Steve Jobs had a particularly aggressive form of pancreatic cancer and nor all cancers are equal - some have a very high survival rate, some very low.

I know, i wasn't attacking you on your contribution just saying that any type is something none of us would want to have.

Wonder if this will have any affect on shares, stock and sales again..

Re: Steve Jobs, 6 weeks to live..

The claim that he's only got six weeks and those pictures were published by the National Enquirer - A US newspaper of very dubious reputation as I've been led to believe.

That said, there is no doubt that the man is very ill indeed. However virtually nobody outside of Jobs' immediate family, doctors, and Apples very top few people know exactly what his condition is, so it's probably best to maintain a healthy skepticism over these kinds of reports, although I must say it does not appear to be looking good for him.

Sadly enough all newspapers are, thats the way they sell

None the less, Steve isn't looking well.. yet still has the strength to go into to work and develop some new toys.. fairplay to him

Re: Steve Jobs, 6 weeks to live..

I understand media covering the health issues of a very large and public figure, but publishing ill-gotten photos of a sick man and paying some hack doctors to speculate on his remaining time on earth is, as my Mom would say, just common. I hope he recovers and if not is allowed to spend his remaining time with due dignity.

Re: Steve Jobs, 6 weeks to live..

As asked, do you think this will have any affect on shares, stock or sales again?

Last time Apple stock took a bit of a dip, while i am sure the people next to Steve are as compitent in running Apple as he is.

I'm sure it will affect share price; but as a more nuts and bolts kind of guy myself I find it comforting that Wozniak is still on the payroll, even if he isn't really active in the company- or is he? And I don't own any Apple stuff (just a big fan of Woz ).

I agree, as far as journalism goes, this is toilet journalism in my eyes, but they do anything these days to sell more copies, and people fall for it.

No, no, no. The National Enquirer is NOT a newspaper. It features stories on spaceships and aliens, the world's fattest penguin, how to cure cancer with carrot juice, etc. It is sensational fiction, not anything else. It makes People magazine look like the New York Times. So until this article pops up in either of those, preferably the latter, I wouldn't place any stock in it.

Re: Steve Jobs, 6 weeks to live..

I really don't feel that peoples personal health should be a matter for general discussion and supposition. Morbid fascination is not a trait I would wish to reveal so willingly on a Forum.

Sorry guys. I just don't want to add to this man's predicament.
I feel for him, and his family. We have the loss of a genius becoming apparent.

I find this story very sad. If he is dying to have to go through this in the public eye is very depressing. I wish him all the best.

National enquirer is perhaps not the most reliable news source, although, they are tenacious with this kind of stuff. Having said that, Jobs does deserve some privacy about his health status - despite being a public figure. Presumably, Apple has been planning for this contingency.

And pancreatic cancer is awful.. One of the worst to get.

Re: Steve Jobs, 6 weeks to live..

as said before, I think or I should say I hope, we can all agree no one needs to be voyeuristic with any other persons health concerns.. no matter who they are.

now perhaps the legit papers have accepted this and have agreed to give mr. jobs the privacy that I believe he has publicly asked for. ( and if mr. jobs cares to publicly discuss or even admit to cancer.. that is truly his business. )

National Enquirer... I wouldnt line my parrot cage with that crap.

Edit.. best wishes to steve jobs.
