Calls for Day of rage in KSA

So instead of worrying about Iran, I see that a day of rage is planned in Saudi Arabia for 11 march. That despite the token gesture from the King which didnt impress too many people. Major concern for oil prices!

Great. We'll get even richer! (hint: EUR/CHF and USD/CHF and other currency pairs on forex).

The issue with Saudi is that the Royal family are like a cancer throughout the Kingdom, there are 000's of Princes and they hold positions at every level of government from the governor of some dusty province to the King himself. Since they are all joined by blood and tribal loyalties, extracting them will not be as easy as a civilian President and his cabinet.

Re: Calls for Day of rage in KSA

I was wondering when the Saudis would kick off.

I was curious, do you think all these pro-democracy protests across the Middle East will marginalise or strengthen AQ and other Islamist groups?

I suppose that it marginalises their cause ie corruption in the leadership etc but on the otherhand with the confusion that spreads will allow them more safe havens to operate

Good analysis;
might have a major negative impact on funding of AQ and other Islamist groups because the people providing their funds are busy fighting other fires or grabbing other/easier opportunities.
