I think here there is a dichotomy between english and non english people. I didn't grow up in England and I abhor English food. Its not meant as an insult against the English, it's just something that requires a certain taste. However for someone who grew up in England I can imagine its something appealing.
So I don't think there is anything wrong as to what he said, and we don't know the context in which he said it
What exactly do you 'abhor' about British food? I assume you are a Kiwi from your name, isn't the New Zealand food British food by another name?
I don't understand how someone can have such strong feelings about food which by general international agreement satisfies hunger and allows the individual to work all day in the fields. There are no strong flavours or acquired tastes in British stodge, which is why I understand the criticism, but that is no ground to 'abhor' it.
As far as personal views go, then no. We're all entitled to them.
However, given his position, he should be careful about to whom and where he airs them IMHO...
Why?
These days, it is ok to have anti-muslims opinions and everybody is entitle to scream it out and loud. You can do stupid caricatures and defend it to your last breath as liberty of expression... It is also acceptable to burn the Quran on the Saint name of freedom of speech. It is acceptable to hate Islam, it is fashionable right now....
But that a bloke says that British food isn't good and British women are ugly, it isn't ok and he should be careful and shut up?
got that for you ishaka. Why is it I think that if anyone of his employees had said something that would give them (burger king) bad press, that person would be looking for a job right now -
Actual, as the old saying goes: there's no such thing as bad press.
But really, who cares, apart from the *ahem* discerning Guardian reader...
The comment could equally be applied to US women, showing that the generalisation doesn't hold much credence.

...In public, he should keep his view to himself, yes. Given his position as CEO of a world renowned international company no less, then what he says publicly - negative or positive - carries a lot of weight in the eyes of Joe Public et al. Personally, I could not care less about his views in this instance but clearly a lot of people do.
His comments have attracted negative reactions and press and which can tarnish a company's overall brand and image. This is not what he is being paid mega-bucks for IMHO...

Re: Burger King CEO: British women unattractive and English food terrible
Whilst in London and Oxford last week, I was actually surprised by the number of (what I would consider) attractive women, much more so than I remember when I lived in the UK.
Then I realised that:
a) most of them weren't British and
b) it wasn't Warwick
Edit
c) I'm not overly fussy tbh

Anyway, this blokes only been in charge of BK about 6 months .I am reliably informed in that particular photo he was explaining a personal issue which may explain his lack of success in Warwick

There is a definite lack of corollary in your statements, how can one almost completely un-related act of racism qualify or condone another act of racism? I think both the fervent hatred of Islam and blatant rudeness and small minded racist views are equally as abhorrent, most people I think would agree. BUT, right wing and radical hatred of Islam should not be confused with justifiable criticism of Islam and the right to an uncensored media. Religion is in general a waste of time and Islam is arguably the most dangerous one out there, would you go on to condone the 'Muslim' back lash that resulted in needless deaths due to a couple of silly cartoons?

To go off on a tangent from the CEO's rather unhealthy comment, why do Nil, et al have avatars showing rather attractive looking women? Why not, say, average looking women?
