Elizabeth Taylor dies at 79

The world has lost yet another icon. A woman who has lived life on her own terms, and nobody else's. RIP Elizabeth Taylor.

Re: Elizabeth Taylor dies at 79

"International affairs/politics"?

I think it is affairs as in business affairs, as in matters of business. Not affairs, as in dangerous liaisons...

The same question would be valid for an AWFUL lot. Maybe it's just not the moment to make fun of someone? Of course, what do I know.

Egads. You put Zsa Zsa and Liz in the same sentence. Two calibers of woman, I say.

I met Zsa Zsa once and was not impressed. Nor was she with me.

Doesn't Zsa Zsa have an amputated leg waiting for her in heaven? I think she already has a foot in the door.

It appears she didn't have a bad taste, after all.

Re: Elizabeth Taylor dies at 79

There's another great beauty who just died. Syra Marty, born and bred in a nearby village in the Congo/Schwyz canton. She went on to become a well-known strip tease artist in Europe and America, using her feathers in a tantalizing way. She was 92 years old and died in Florida. There's an amazing story behind her.

Oh wow. Only 79 but had a long history of illness.
I guess 79 isn't so bad.
Another woman in entertainment also died today at only 64 years old.

Loleatta Holloway

www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-12822122

You may not have heard of her but you've almost certainly heard her.
One of her most succesful songs, "Love Sensation", was sampled on the 1989 World-wide hit Ride On Time by Black Box.
She succesfully sued the Italian group for not acknowledging or asking permission for her amazing voice on the track.
Her voice was sampled on so many early Chicagoand other House tracks in the 80s and 90s.

She even sang alongside Mark Wahlberg when Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch used her vocals on one of their hits.

Question is : where is she going to be buried ? in Céligny (Geneva), with Richard Burton (as she promised when he was buried there) or with Michael Jackson ?
