I vote for that. I think the Kurds have been a stand-up people who deserve more. Sure they have radical factions as well; communists and what have you. What is keeping the Kurds from having their own country? And what would the problems be with having one?

Also, some of those Kurdish women soldiers are pretty cute.
Turkey and Irak.

Yes they are cute indeed. I have to say I am very proud of these women fighting side by side with the men.

These men and women are very brave.

I read somewhere that Jihadists fear getting killed by women soldiers, as it would cause them to lose their Bollywood paradise. I love that rumour. It should be spread around more.

On other news, the new Turkish Foreign Minister Cavusoglu on Syria:
"SYRIA CAN'T HAVE PEACE WITHOUT NEW REGIME"

Every one else is already backtracking speedily while Turkey still have the same anti-Esad (correction anti-Esed as used by president) rhetoric

China is smart. Whereas Iran and Russia are looking at economies ruined by sanctions!
Russian rouble has fallen another 1.6% against the US dollar so far today;it is at a historic low level.

Turkish lira also fell about 2% this week; down around 40% over the last 10 years; almost 25% in the last 1.5 years. Also almost at the historic low level that was briefly reached in January this year.,

These pretty girls are teenagers.. They shouldn't be there in a normal world, although of course I understand their reasons. Life sucks.

Yet they show more maturity and character than Jihadist men. Frankly, I don't know how those Jihadists can live with themselves.

- The pragmatic and smart Iranian, Russian and Chinese governments were right from the beginning.

- The coward loser French, dumb cynical Turks and fanatical Saudis were as usual wrong and they underestimated President Assad's resilience and military strength. He enjoys wide support among the population.

- The American and British governments were misled by the Turks and Saudis. They are now realizing their mistakes.

- The Germans, Italians and Japanese were always skeptical but were secretly rooting for President Assad.

- France right from the beginning sided with Dr Assad for many years
- the Turks may Play a cynical game, but a shrewd game. They will be winners into what way things turn
- Americans and Brits were NOT mislead by Turks or Saudis but by their own specialists

Yes, because arming an ethnic group which has aspirations for nationhood within the borders of a NATO member state would be an excellent idea!

I don't know why they don't just take you on as Secretary General and be done with it.

Alan Henning, British aid worker, murdered by IS. RIP Alan!

http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-29485405

The Salford taxi driver was delivering aid to Syria in December when he was kidnapped and then held hostage by IS.
IS threatened to kill him in footage last month showing the death of Briton David Haines, and in this video they threaten US aid worker Peter Kassig.

Kobani, Ayn al Arab, holding up after 3 weeks of onslaught. Out-numbered and out-gunned, without useful "Coalition" support, while Turkey watches 1KM away.

ISIS terror does not seem to impress the Kurds, hence no ISIS effect.

The heroism of those Kurds are truly impressive. I would hate to be on the other side of the line from them. US, make friends with the Kurds, now!

Re: Syria - It ain't over till it's over

I don't agree with the air bombing mission against IS (ISIS, whatever they are being called this week) proposed by many western nations, as there will be much collateral damage (civilians) and it simply won't work.

A better way is absolute blockade around ISIS of everything but water, food and select meds which cannot be turned into any type of weapon; invite the Russians to participate as well.

A blockade that is a couple of thousand Km long? Let me see, a soldier every 10 metres = !!!! soldiers

...so many Turkish news sources would have us believe (and who doesn't love a good tragedy with a good looking heroine, eh?) - but her Kurdish comrades reckon it's a load of bollocks: http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/syria-19-ye...-hands-1468420

Oh well. Maybe we'll have to make do with an ugly one next time...

News has been unreliable. The #Kobani hashtag has all kinds of conflicting reports and disinformation.

These girls are now cultural icons. They would be more valuable alive than dead. H&M's Fall 2014 line feature Kurdish Female Fighter knock-offs. Parasites. I would rather see corporate sponsorship that actually do some good.

I guess these two girls have had second thoughts about leaving Austria to fight in Syria.

Me thinks they will be doing a lot of community service when they get back to Austria.
