Thank you corrected!

Back to Syria- has anyone see the latest from the MIT professor, I tried to dig up dirt on him but he seems to be respected. I keep vacillating on this, first I thought it's the rebels, then its Assad, now I have no idea!
Is Theodore Postol credible?

http://www.globalresearch.ca/assessm...-syria/5584867
Here is a view on Postol, he is an expert on missile defence systems; how much expertise he has on offensive chemical weapons systems is not documented anywhere that I could find.

From the article;
Quote:
Theodore Postol could be more effective “if he did not eventually accuse just about everybody of fraud or malfeasance or stupidity.”

Postol's assessment is based on the effect of explosives on a cylinder. Whether the cylinder was filled with a liquid CW, water, or any other non-explosive and inert liquid should be immaterial as any liquid's core attribute here is its incompressability.

Being an arrogant asshole but still remaining in position for a long time speaks volumes about his abilities. And you don't criticize the Pentagon for decennials and still stay in position if you're anything but excellent.

A "moderate rebel" killed 112 people yesterday in a suicide attack.
Did you see any photo of the victims in international media?
No, because the civilians killed were Shia Muslims and not Sunni.
Yet Assad must go.

Moderate my a**.

"A "moderate rebel" " Do you have a source for this? There are some claims that allege the regime organised this to disrupt the "peace" process.
Seems both of us were wrong.

Nothing is what it seems in the Middle East.
There is a group of Qatari royals being held hostage in the area since 2015.
There is a complex deal underway to move many local villagers to safety, to free the Qataris and to distribute millions of dollars in cash to involved parties.
Likely the explosion was by someone who did not like the deal and wanted to stop it or change it or simply distribute the money differently.

Not surprising - the French Intelligence also thinks that Assad's forces are responsible for the chemical attack.

If and when he regains control of the rest of Syria, the carnage will be terrible.

Syria conflict is all a terrible mess with many casualties; now Turkey has started bombing the Kurds who are assisting the US efforts against ISIS!

The US have started having US soldiers patrolling the Syria/Turkey border to keep Turks and Kurds apart; what a mess

Well, he was calling for a plan, doesn't say how or when operations start
So the 59 Tomahawks could actually have been part of a larger plan. Which still raises the question "Cui bono?" WRT to the purported gas attack.

Negotiators have reached a bipartisan agreement on a spending package to keep the US federal government funded until the end of September, according to congressional aides.
A senior congressional aide told the Guardian that the deal increased defense spending by $12.5bn, with the possibility of $2.5bn more contingent on the White House presenting an anti-Isis plan to Congress.

Source

Not conclusive that there is no anti ISIS plan but nobody walks away from $2.5Bn?
Congress has enough security cleared committees who could review and accept such a plan in secret.

Even without reading the article I'm quite certain the 2.5bln are not for Trump himself.

"Cui Bono" is not enough - means and intention are also. leads to all kinds of conspiracies and not the truth.

The Gas attack was probably done by the Syrian army. The Assad Dynastynever shied from massacring civilians.

Neither did the rebels, obviously they have the means and are unscrupoulos enough to use them as well.

Of course, this is an Arab civial war after all. From Algeria via Lebanon to Yemen (and others) atrocities are standard practice.

however, the rebels don't have an air force (the means), hence the greater likelyhood of Assad being the culprit in the Gas attack. but we are going over the same subject again.

Re: Syria - It ain't over till it's over

Syria’s Kurds have revealed plans to redraw the northern part of the country by linking the Kurdish region of Rojava with the Mediterranean Sea, in a move that will infuriate neighbouring Turkey.

In a further sign of growing Kurdish confidence in Syria’s north, officials say that they plan to ask the US for political support in creating a trade corridor to the Mediterranean as part of a deal for their role in liberating Raqqa and other cities from Islamic State (Isis).

That will get Erdogan foaming at the mouth
