Turkish army has been crossing the Iraqi border so many years now. ...then the turkish army wouldn't have the need to cross the border. Erdogan has played a major role in destabilizing his own country.
Perhaps if the Turkish army weren't securing illegal oil supplies from ISIS then everyone could stay at home and enjoy some baklava and tea in peace. But that's for another thread...

I actually was referring to more to the era between 1990-2010.

I am not going to disagree with your input. I believe Turkey was a transit point for that oil, but not the end user of it.

The death of only a few Russians was communicated on some social sites recently, there are no other proofs yet that so many hired Russians died in the skirmish.

Sputnik's claiming it's all a misinformation campaign and this didn't happen and what's worse is it was aggression from the US, so we can take what we want from this response. Must have been a hell of a battle if so many were involved.
Russia has admitted for the first time that it suffered heavy casualties in an ill-fated operation against US-backed forces in Syria earlier this month.

The Foreign Ministry said "several dozen" Russians were injured and an unspecified number died in US airstrikes during the clashes on the night of February 7. The Kremlin had previously played down reports of mass casualties, saying only that five people may have died.

Syria & Russia are ignoring the security council resolution.

Such blatant action is quite rare and shows the weakness of the west.

Once this terrible war is over it will take generations for the people to heal.

Rare?

Israel has the world lead in ignoring UN resolutions, I believe 70?

Here is a full list of all UN resolutions about Israel.

Your list is of the general assembly resolutions which are non binding. Because the General assembly has a an automatic majority of anti-semitic & dictatorial countries, they are also non moral. we can discuss further in a thread about Israel.

Syria & Russia are ignoring a security council resolution which Russia didn't veto. Even during the cold war russia didn't ignore these resolutions.

"Russia Orders Five Hour Daily Truce"

“Eastern Ghouta cannot wait, it is high time to stop this hell on earth,” U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres told the U.N. Human Rights Council in Geneva.

Chlorine bombs, incendiaries... "Mohamad Alloush, the political chief of one of eastern Ghouta’s biggest rebel factions, said the Syrian army and its allies had launched “a sweeping ground assault”.

Ah yes, securing humanitarian exits, uh-huh.

A Palestinian video of the desperation in Ghouta. Apparently the medical supplies are being removed by government forces before entering, then getting shelled.

An explainer, if you're new to the story:

Re: Syria - It ain't over till it's over

Aid deliveries halted as 90 killed last night during chlorine attacks. A medic reports:

“I don’t know, I’m even exhausted of documenting everything. I treated people during the 2013 chemical massacre, and this is the worst gas attack I’ve seen since. But what can we do? It’s been five years under siege, bombardment, hunger and nobody cared about us. What can we do? We will continue working... in the space of 10 hours they used all types of weapons. I couldn’t sleep, the bombing did not stop.””

The Syrian war keeps dragging on: just when Assad thought that his victory is assured,he had to do the one thing that would rile the west and get Saudi to pay for the U.S to stay in the game.

Putin sure knows how to pick 'em.

He picks them among those willing to burn down their whole country just to stay in power. Simples.

Meaning Assad would have been stupid to use them whereas the other factions have a strong motive.

Cui bono?

Cui gives a f&$k ?

Conspiracy "theories" are almost always wrong and stupidity is very common.

Gas is effective when fighting in confined spaces, like in Ghouta. Assad and Russia don't care about civilian casualties. He probably thought he could get away with it. Maybe he will.

In this YouTube London Paul does a good summing up of the Assad business and ties it in with the poisoned Russians in Salisbury. A good one hour's worth of listening in my opinion.

Listening to Roger Waters on politics is like listening to Boris Johnson about haircuts.

Not related to Syria, but as Yacek is very interested in Israel & Jews I'll bite.

Interesting article with some amazing insights:

"Outside the elite, fewer and fewer people in Israel speak English" - Obviously the reporter never talked to Israelis...

"Iran's weapons program was halted in 2003" but "From 2006 to 2013 they installed 20,000 centrifuges to enrich uranium at various locations, including an underground complex called Fordow dug secretly into the base of a mountain and intended to be bombproof. " So Iran didn't stop.

"If the president can convince us that the Iran nuclear deal damages our national interest, which encompasses the security of our allies, very well. But if he can’t, then I’d prefer not to hear it from a foreign leader." Ignoring facts is good thing ?

The Iran deals freed up funds for Iran, some of which are now in invested in deploying Missiles in Syria.
