Palace guard axed over Kate Facebook rant

Unbelieveable, just where do they get them from?

Has facebook ever got you into trouble? I referred to my former club committee as "a bunch of numpties" that didn't go down too well!

Re: Palace guard axed over Kate Facebook rant

Good grief.

I don't think that "everyone" should necessarily have to face repercussions over stupid things on Facebook (or elsewhere) BUT I do think that certain positions deem that such microscope be applied. Someone responsible for the safety of others is one such position.

The rant about Kate isn't anything that hasn't been heard before about someone somewhere, the guard is simply a young idiot giving space to things best kept to oneself or among friends. I am bothered more about his racist leanings as that puts him, and others through him, in danger from those who may wish to teach him a lesson.

Way back in the day, I "often" heard a particular description about such guys "young, dumb and full of c.." (male sexual effluvia) as they are too young and driven by hormones to have much common sense.

Well, he's not been axed really (yet). He's been relieved from duty on the wedding day.

He should not be in a Guard's regiment if he is not sympathetic to the royal family. No doubt he is facing internal discipline.

Just sounds like an illiterate little scumbag who joined the army because he wasn't capable of doing anything else.
Looks like our selection procedures need a bit of a shake-up.

Re: Palace guard axed over Kate Facebook rant

I can understand his feelings. Not all people care about who is marrying who and can be pretty pissed off if they are forced to take part in a thing that they dont give a toss about.

But putting it up on facebook? Thats just plain stupid

Well, soldier is one thing, palace guard (as I believe he is?) is something else... certainly SHOULD BE ready, willing and able to show the world a good "British" stiff upper lip and all that. (Basically, grin and bear it.)

I've been guilty once or twice of not abiding by my own "thought advice" on that topic (as in, advice I'd certainly want to give but don't necessarily say it aloud), the gist is this:

IF it isn't something that you can imagine painting on a sheet and hanging from the front of your house, you shouldn't put it on the internet.

This includes bad comments about your employer, what sort of "interesting" surgeries and / or diseases you may have had and whatever family / relationship squabbles are going on. No calling your employer (or his fiancee) anything nasty, no descriptions of the poo you had this morning, none of that...

Then again, perhaps among the younger set this is more acceptable () and I'm simply showing my age.

I find it funny how the current establishment has no qualms giving guns to such a braindead waste of genes like this plonker yet it makes honest citizens jump through ever more hoops because "but think of the children!!1 derp".

Grunts like this are just cannon fodder BUT apart from being a few sandwiches short of a picnic they can be dangerous too. Not just because they occasionally have access to guns but to society in general. These are the loonies that cause punchups in the bar for fun.

Bin him, better still a few months in Coventry will keep him out of the road for a while !

Don't write anything down, in an email, on the internet, in your diary under your bed, that you aren't comfortable with the whole world reading. If you have a secret, shut up about it.
