Not the conspiracy of the century even if it is true. They might have just found his dead body or proof of his death. Same thing to me.

hmm..makes you think about the distances they would need to travel from Pakistan to the base in Afganistan and than to the sea. is that even possible in the 3-6 hours?

| | Re: US gov. claiming Osama bin Laden killed. | Quote: | | | | | I am under the impression that Bin-Laden was dead a long time ago and that Obama is certain now so is now possibly making up that they have just killed him.
Ask yourself what you would do if you were in Obama's shoes.
It just doesn't stack up that the body of Bin-Laden was removed from the compound; transported to Afganistan and then buried at sea. | | | | | Plus DNA testing. I thought it takes more than 24hours. Maybe a DNA expert here could help.

Osama - worlds most wanted terrorist killed and buried at sea.
Sadam Hussein - tyrant, murderer, also wanted by the most influential countries in the world, publicly executed and ditched in a hole.
They had Sadam that's why they proved to the world evidence of his execution and allowed close up recording.
Now, why two criminals of almost same level, were treated differently? Both of them were claiming to be moslems, why one gets treated (his remains at least) according to islam tradition and the other doesn't?
And, as far as I know, it is not in islamic tradition to bury the dead at sea.

Osama by the US.
Consequently they were treated differently.

Remember how they hanged Saddam in the middle of the night, after a secret trial by the Iraqis.. which made no sense considering the US was in control of the country. And then one of the executioners taunted Saddam and someone shot a video on a cellphone and it circulated on the web...
In this case, since they were operating inside another sovereign territory, it seemed logical that they would hand over the body to Pakistan to deal with.
Oh well... someday Wikileaks will reveal all.

I have just read a report which states that Obama refused to bomb the 'lair' back in March, for fear of destroying DNA evidence that would prove irrefutably that OBL was dead.

I quote "He was buried at sea after a Muslim funeral on board an aircraft carrier in the north Arabian Sea" Pentagon officials said.
DNA tests in 2 to 4 hours; see http://pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.1021/ac101891k |

Also worth remembering is that the US were offered Bin Laden back in 2001 if they could provide proof of his guilt to which Bush famously replied "There's no need to discuss innocence or guilt. We know he's guilty". | | | | | Any source for this? It certainly not anywhere close to what I've seen or read.

No mention of whether he had a gun in his hands, etc.
