You do not try enemy combatants in civil courts, which is what he has been classified (justifiably) as. You are also assuming that the assassination was not an attempted apprehension gone awry, which is an assumption that I am not prepared to make.

Again, simplistic anti-Americanism. Boring and predictable.
Perhaps one should balance it out with some simplistic americanism, equally boring and predictable?

Did he only become a murdering terrorist after the US stopped funding him or before?

Seriously, the Prez at the time said he was responsible for 9/11...I for one would like to see the evidence....call me cynical but I tend not to believe everything that comes out of a politicians mouth.
Especially in the middle of a national crisis when they desperately need someone to blame.
where have you been for the past 10 years? the guy has been putting out video after video taking credit for the attacks.

and he became a murdering terrorist when he had people fly planes into buildings.

About "or just a name the US plucked out of a hat so they could have a focal point to blame"

No, he was the name who was distributing videos & tapes claiming terrorist murder successes & threatening to murder me & you & lots of other people.

It was a hat full of horrible people but it was still a hat.

That's probably why you don't run the place. Your opinion is that he should have been allowed to live his days out undisturbed then? What exactly is your opinion and what proof do you have that killing him (whether the intended result or not) was more bloodshed than allowing him to live would have caused?
Hey, it's me again :P

My point is that America could have had him killed long time ago but I guess they were too busy trying to find hair in an egg and i think that Osama WAS the hair they needed
The war in Iraq was started based on some kind of nuclear bomb that Sadam possessed! When they found out that the bomb is not there? "MAYDAY MAYDAY WE NEED OSAMA AROUND HERE" And he came with his band of outlaws called Al-Qaeda
The same goes for Afghanistan and for Somalia back in 1992

It's been reported several times and I'm sure I heard it on the BBC that this was a kill mission.
Kill mission? wasn't that what they did in New York in 2001 when they killed those people in the towers??

And I could put out video after video taking credit for the flowers blooming every spring. That doesn't make it fact.

And there's not been sufficient independent proof (to my eyes at least) that he orchestrated the September 11th attacks.

Did someone just said anti-americanism? No, my lad, it is not anti-americanism to say that America achieved nothing but bloodshed, that, in my opinion was absolutely unnecessarily!
Said from safely behind a computer in innocent-as-snow Switzerland.

2011 has been so far quite a special year:
..
- hamas & plo agreement
and there are more to come especially in the middle-east.
Hamas, those new partners in the Palestinian government, are calling OBL a "Holy warrior" and condemning his killing.

A bunch of murdering terrorists, but at least they stand by their friends.

When Europe finally gets off it's collective keister, takes the lead, and does something substantive without screwing anything up, maybe then they can handle things differently.

While I do not quite understand your entire post, I personally find it exactly the same.

As for your argument that the US supplied Pakistan with money in the past, then perhaps Germany has the right to invade Greece now since it has helped it with the credit crisis. Alternatively, Japan should be given a voucher to undertake covert missions in the US, for supplying them with electronics equipment over the last decades.

You honestly think that it would be ok with the United States government and people, if Mexican special forces invaded deep into a US location undetected and took out a columbian drug dealer? I respectfully disagree....
I don't actually think it would be OK for Mexico to operate like this in the US.
But you have missed my point. The US currently operates in Pakistan with their OK in a military standing. They supplied the previous administration in Pakistan with the initial money as a smoothing over to allow us to stage air strikes from that country onto Afghanistan, as previous we were actually quite un friendly towards Pakistan in relations to supporting India;s nuclear agenda and being anti Pakistani in their's.
We are in a military operation since 9/11 with co operation from Pakistan to weed out Taliban fighters staging strikes in Afghanistan from Pakistani territory. How is this like borrowing them a few g's and then sneaking over in the night night to sleep with their sister?
Respectfully

toadvine you're new here so perhaps you haven't witnessed the extent of the mindless anti-americanism on this forum.

god forbid a few people get excited about the death of OBL and celebrate in the streets for a bit. or that the soldiers involved in a GUNFIGHT didn't capture a desperate man alive so he could face a fair trial? LOL

hold on, lets go have a national holiday so we can stare at pippa's breasts.
