London Marathon - two still completing

Almost three weeks after most runners completed the course, there are still at least two people participating.

Former stunt rider Eddie Kidd has so far completed around eight miles. He was paralysed during one of his stunts.

The other is Lloyd Scott, dressed as Brian the Snail from The Magic Roundabout. He is raising funds for 'Action for Kids'. He has managed around 19 miles so far.

Both of these are either great heroes or total nutters, I can't quite decide which.

Re: London Marathon - two still completing

I never heard about Eddie Kidd's unfortunate accident, at the time, and was quite shocked how he looked, when I saw a report about his marathon attempt on the TV.

It's an incredible courageous effort that he's making, as it appears he can barely move any part of his body more than a few inches at a time.

A real pity, as he was a bit of a hero to some lads I knew in my youth -an English Evil Kenevil, but with a cooler image (so some of my mates thought).

I am full of admiration for Eddie Kidd too. - It must take so much drive to make himself go through this after living such a full on live up until his accident. Sad that after being a stunt stand in for the likes of Pierce Brosnan and Michael Caine that he is now living on Benefits as he had no insurance.

'Brian the Snail' completed the course.

Eddie Kidd has reached the 11-mile mark as continues on.

I'd rather crawl around London for three weeks dressed as a snail than watch BBC 1's The One Show. Are you doing it for charity or what?

Ooops! Did I really admit to that on a public forum

In my defense Your Honour, it follows the News and I was cooking dinner catching bit and bobs of it. But at least it showed me Eddie Kidd crossing the line

But then got sacked by the children's charity that sponsored him for not raising enough money:

"This year he had hoped to raise £200,000 – but collected only £19,500. The charity spent £16,000 buying costumes for him and his team and thousands more on a PR company."
