The other interesting super injunction one I heard was Euan McGregor entertaining the same Prostitute that Rooney frequents. Lovely
I've been following the superinjunction stuff and it seems pretty certain it wasn't him. It's some guy no-one has ever heard of. Talk of him being world-famous etc is crazy!

Re: Super injunction, premiership footballer, BB contestant and twitter....

I've no idea even now who this guy is and really don't care to know. However, the resultant publicity almost certainly means that yet another totally talentless reality TV show contestant is now set for life as a result. Now that to me is a crime.

Because it is alleged she was trying to sell him photographs of the two together for an extortionate sum, threatening to sell them to the press instead if he didn't want to buy them.

"Blackmail victims deserve anonymity, blackmailers don't deserve anonymity" is presumably what the judge decided.
Apparently a reporter discovered the affair and approached her, she hasn't asked for money, she didn't give his name and she wasn't and hasn't blackmailed him. I may be a bit of a mug but I did believe her story

That wasn't what was reported in The Times earlier this week. They say she arranged to meet the footballer in September at a hotel after the affair was over and that he was suspicious but met her anyway, only to have her show up with photographs and ask for money for them (I think the figure quoted was 100,000) , with the (unstated?) implication being that if he didn't pay up she would go to The Sun. That was when he sought legal advice, claiming "blackmail" and took out the super-injunction (according to The Times).

No doubt the real details will emerge over the next few weeks.

I don't know about the ins and the outs of the alleged blackmail, who's telling the truth about that or whether the woman is a naive fool or a conniving harpie.
But, when everyone knows that you have been caught with your pants down, you kind of need to confess and apologise, or just shut up.

Trying to sue twitter and journalists will just land you with a massive bill and make everyone think you are a right twunt.

I'm really disappointed actually - what an idiot.

I agree. But I suspect it's more about realising the game's up but trying to move the direction of "ridicule" and main focus of the story to being about the stupidity of suing Twitter than the extremely embarrassing minutae of what happened, hinted at (hilariously) in this Sky News report: "If you don't want to be in the papers don't pay hookers to stick dildos up your bum"

What's interesting about this story is the way it's been all about Twitter rather than the chants at the football matches which have said far more than twitter ever has once the story got out. Apparently mass shouts at football matches naming names and details isn't news, but "social media" is (yawn!)

The guy's been caught playing off-side! Apparently, his legal beagles took out an injunction applicable under English jurisprudence, but forgot about Scotland and Wales, which permitted certain members of the Press there to intimate in their respective papers who the indivual might be! Ho-hum!

No, No, the footballer isn't the 'dildo up bum, rooney prostitute' man. That guy is a British actor and I seem to remember reading that he may have already said something or apologised to his wife or something. The footballer just had sex with a b rate TV star model person, and then tried to give her a signed MUFC T-shirt

I don't often praise the Daily Mail, but they seem to have got it spot on in this article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...ves-Volvo.html

Sorry, don't know how to linky things, but pay attention to the last sentence

If somebody has an affair, I cannot see why they should be entitled to it remaining secret. It is not as if national security would be jeoardised.

His actions have probably made a non-event into a major story.

Someone posted a link to a Spanish news source revealing their identities a couple of weeks ago. At the time, I didn't understand why it had been posted.

If ... someone has a super-injunction out, that nobody knows about, how could anyone know they are not to speak about it?

Re: Super injunction, premiership footballer, BB contestant and twitter....

if these super injunctions were to be respected then footballers may find themselves far less successful with the ladies, I am fairly sure that a 15 minutes of fame reality star goes into an affair with one of these guys already thinking of selling her story

The girl involved is Imogen Thomas. She has been named in the news reports so I assume she doesnt have a super injuction. In her job as a model she did gigs in Manchester, apparently.
Welsh inbreeding and you see what happens?

hehe I love what the Mail has done here.

Sorry but more likely you're a mug.

The one I really can't believe is Clarkson and Jemima Khan/Goldsmith. I mean...why would she?

Who gets to see the court document? I certainly don't.

If I mentioned someone subject to an injunction, but was not aware that it was in place, would I be breaking the law?
