Who gets to see the court document? I certainly don't.

If I mentioned someone subject to an injunction, but was not aware that it was in place, would I be breaking the law?
I'm not sure they can police what private conversations people have. But if you created posters accusing Ryan Giggs of getting a dildo stuck up his arse by Imogen Thomas (with no evidence), then you'd probably be closer to slander than breaking a super injunction.

I was thinking more of public comments. There must be various people who are aware of the activities of celebrities: e.g. hotel or nightclub staff, taxi drivers etc.

They could reasonably assume that the celebrities wouldn't want what they know making public. Would they know if an injunction was in place?

The one I really can't believe is Clarkson and Jemima Khan/Goldsmith. I mean...why would she?
From what I heard (it was from an interview with the director of the PCC on the Richard Bacon Show on BBC 5 Live) there are rumours that the Twitter account that broke the injunction was created by a UK journalist (which is why Twitter are being asked to identify the account holder) and that the Khan rumours were deliberately made up to create discussion.

Re: Super injunction, premiership footballer, BB contestant and twitter....

Please remember that this is Ryan 'Giggsy' Giggs we are talking about here, the most decorated player in English football history. Had he only won one Premiership title then fair enough rip him to shreds but the fact that he's one more than ten should a least enable him to sleep with some big brother tart without his character being called into question.

If they beat barca on Saturday I say he gets a free pass with one of next years BB hopefuls with a super injunction in the bargain - all in the name of team spirit.

Yes he is an amazing footballer, but this does not mean he can cheat on his wife.

Reasoning like a true Frenchman, if you are important enough, you should get away with anything.

the issue is that nobody would really give a crap if there was no "super" injunction....

Poor Ryan, scared of what football "supporters" might shout at him? Surely there's nothing new in opposing fans shouting and chanting to get at you.

Far more people know about it now that ever would if it was a snippet in a newspaper for a day or two.

Barbra would be proud of him

Oh and the laws for England and Wales are clear, Scottish law differs. And the Twitter angle is not down to the site but the contributor - that person could be sued but whether Twitter comes up with a name is the question. And if that name can be verified in any way.

Super injunction, game over. And rightly so.

Re: Super injunction, premiership footballer, BB contestant and twitter....

They said last night on the news that Giggs not only got the super injunction to stop imogen whatsername from talking about the affair, but he named her in the injunction thereby telling the world it was her that had slept with him. Added to that the arrogance of suggesting he was going to sue any twitter or other forum member for mentioning his name shows what a class act he is- all in the name of "protecting his name"
I think he has done so much damage to his name in all of this he deserves all of it.

Re: Super injunction, premiership footballer, BB contestant and twitter....

On one of the Brit TV news bulletins yesterday evening, a reporter was interviewing some of the fans outside Old Trafford. Out of the 2 or 3 shown, it was a case of no one giving a damn about his private life, as long as does the biz for Man U. - the same reaction as in previous Rooneygates.
He was obviously trying to keep it out of the press, for his own benefit, only.

Although, he's probably scuppered his chances of being in the starting 11 on Saturday.

So Rooney had a Dildo rammed up his jacksey did he? I'm surprised no-one sang "Jake the Peg" at him .

The fans overall reaction was the same (of those broadcast) - even if there are differences in specifics - they didn't seem bov'r'd - so long as it didn't effect his ability to run down the wing.

Probably more bothered about what will now get shouted at his kids.

It's easy to say that he brought it on himself and his family, but he's not done anything that thousands of men up and down the country haven't done before him.

It's a pity that he had to take this line to defend himself against a business that wants to sell papers no matter what the cost to his family.

The public have absolutely no right to know about this affair.
