Re: News of the world phone hacking - Milly Dowler

Whistleblower Sean Hoare has been found dead. ( Did he go for a walk on the moors, or was it a garden tool?). It is not being treated as suspicious.

Meanwhile

Quote:
Police probing the News of the World phone-hacking scandal have obtained a bag containing a computer, phone and paperwork that was dumped near the home of former News Corp. executive Rebekah Brooks, according to a report.

Britain's The Guardian says the bag was tossed into a garbage bin in an underground parking lot, located just metres away from an apartment where Brooks lives.

The newspaper reports that the bag was given to security, and that Brooks's husband, Charlie Brooks, tried to get the bag back.
I reckon Boris should be next to resign.

The guy was clearly taken out by a pro. Wonder how they did it to make it look natural.

He was at home. Could be much better than that. CO2 leak over time would do it with no trace.

Alternatively dressed in a bin-bag and bra, with a tangerine-skin-full of amyl nitrate in his mouth, sitting on a teatray at the bottom of the stairs, with the rope round his neck tied to the top of the bannister.

You don't get much more English than that

Re: News of the world phone hacking - Milly Dowler

Couldn't resist for Sean Hoare for burning down the Murdoch House

We've got a match.

Watch out you might get what you're after
Cool babies strange but not a stranger
I'm an ordinary guy
Burning down the house

Hold tight wait till the party's over
Hold tight We're in for nasty weather
There has got to be a way
Burning down the house

Here's your ticket pack your bag: time for jumpin' overboard
The transportation is here
Close enough but not too far, Maybe you know where you are
Fightin' fire with fire

All wet hey you might need a raincoat
Shakedown dreams walking in broad daylight
Three hun-dred six-ty five de-grees
Burning down the house

It was once upon a place sometimes I listen to myself
Gonna come in first place
People on their way to work baby what did you except
Gonna burst into flame

My house S'out of the ordinary
That's might Don't want to hurt nobody
Some things sure can sweep me off my feet
Burning down the house

No visible means of support and you have not seen nuthin' yet
Everything's stuck together
I don't know what you expect starring into the TV set
Fighting fire with fire

But being an IT consultant that's hardly surprising.
Who was the Tory with the lisp on Newsnight? I missed his name. What a complete twonk. He couldn't conceal the smell of desperation. Gavin Estler's assertion that no 'senior' Tories have come up to defend Cameron made him look (as he said/implied) a non-entity. Soooooo irritating. He interrupted so much, Gavin said, "Now I know how John Berkow/The Speaker feels".

News just flashed up on BBC World. The Sun's website was hacked and a headline appeared, "Media Mogul's Body Discovered", accompanied by a photo of a bloated Rupert Murdoch slumped in a chair.

Re: News of the world phone hacking - Milly Dowler

It just keeps on coming!!!!

Quote:
Detectives are examining a computer, paperwork and a phone found in a bin near the riverside London home of Rebekah Brooks, the former chief executive of News International.
...
The car park, under a shopping centre, is yards from the gated apartment block where Brooks lives with her husband, a former racehorse trainer and close friend of David Cameron.
...
It is understood the bag was handed in to security at around 3pm, and that shortly afterwards Brooks's husband, Charlie, arrived and tried to reclaim it. He was unable to prove the bag was his and the security guard refused to release it.
...
Instead, it is understood that the security guard called the police. In less than half an hour, two marked police cars and an unmarked forensics car are said to have arrived at the scene.

Re: News of the world phone hacking - Milly Dowler

Archer will have to rewrite his Fourth Estate

Quote:
In his novel The Fourth Estate Jeffrey Archer made the observation: "In May 1789, Louis XVI summoned to Versailles a full meeting of the 'Estates General'. The First Estate consisted of three hundred clergy. The Second Estate, three hundred nobles. The Third Estate, six hundred commoners." The book is a fictionalization from episodes in the lives of two real-life press barons: Robert Maxwell and Rupert Murdoch.

Wikipedia.

I am thinking up titles - The house of Murdoch, Murdoch on the express and others. Murdoch most foul?

Archer was so wrong about Murdoch as shown in this interview, that Murdoch was not interested in political power.

http://www.charlierose.com/view/interview/6170

So who is watching the detectives- Boris?

Ken's Balls are evident on a tour of the Thames- where are Boris's?

Well, given that "Boris" effectively told the Met Comissioner and Assistant Commissioner that it was time to fall on their swords, they seem to be present and correct, if somewhat belated.

Is the "Ken" you refer to the one that's a regular columnist in the Sun and other NI rags, or are you thinking of another one?

Yep same one. In the 1990's when Livingstone wrote for the Sun, the Sun supported New Labour. Livingstone was part of New Labour.

The Telegraph are trying to say that Livingstone's attack on Boris is like calling the kettle calling the pot black. It may be true, ( who knows who Murdoch has got a secret file on and used it to intimidate as shown on Panorama, Murdoch's reign was a reign of fear.) but it will take a lot more for the Telegraph to prove their point than a couple of dinners and the Garden party invite that everyone went to.

Everyone who was commanded went to Murdoch's garden parties, even Lord Sugar who on June 17th

Quote:
Speaking in the House of Lords, he said that editors were responsible for what appeared in their newspapers and it was "ludicrous" to suggest they would not know whether hacking had taken place.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-13807761

Lord Sugar went to the party and was abruptly told to leave.

But Boris definitely was (and still is) under the Murdoch spell as this remark shows:

Quote:

Defending his "codswallop" ( trumped up by Labour) remark, Johnson said: "I thought at the time that really what was happening was that Labour was ramping up the pressure on Andy Coulson at No 10, on Rupert Murdoch … basically because they were now out of power, they'd lost the support of the Sun, and they were bitter and vengeful and all the rest of it."

Four days later the Sun published an article by him attacking justice minster Ken Clarke's proposals for so-called "soft justice". Yesterday he said that what had happened at the News of the World was "absolutely loathsome", but stood by his recently expressed praise for Rupert Murdoch's contribution to journalism, saying that "in the 1980s, in my view, he made a substantial contribution to liberating newspapers".
http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2...-phone-hacking

But yes you are right- I had forgotten about Ken's hunger for glory and compromising, perhaps he lost one ball to City Hall but still I prefer his record in the 1980's supporting Londoners to Balless Boris. I left London in 1990 after that Livingstone and the Labour party become a different political animal.
