James and Rupert are in a different sitting. There was a minor protest at the start.
Testimony just starting.
Listen on BBC for the Murdochs.

Ha ha ha. Rupert sounds like he's going senile. James was mid flow in his introduction.
2 minutes in Rupert pipes up interrupting, "Excuse me, I'd just like to say, this is the most humble day of my life." Then James awkwardly continues. ???

:ugh: The father isn't quite the orator that his son is.
How did James Murdoch become a director of GSK as well. These scum-bags are everywhere!

I'm not a gambling man but if I were in the UK I pop into Ladbrookes and put a fiver that Rupert has a seizure before the end of this questioning. He looks slow and drunk.

Tom Watson is my new hero

The father seems to be drugged up or at least a little slow, (maybe it's an act?) as he chimes in on questions asked earlier. He said that he rarely talks to the editors, then says that he is absolutely not guilty of willful ignorance (a term used in Enron),but that he (Murdoch) was fully in control.
I think that his father's aim is to allow the legacy to continue through his son, the son is talking too much- giving them loads of info.
What I don't really understand is why this is taking place in this form. Surely they should be charged to appear in court? Doesn't this approach compromise convictions? It is strange mix of show trial and public shaming, so they will be humiloated a little, given a slap on the wrist and that's it?-I don't understand.

Tom Watson was the only one who had a good go. The rest seems to be letting them off lightly.

It doesn't seem to serve any purpose other than to humiliate them. It should be left to the Police investigations.

They have put some dyslexic mice in the ring for a boxing match with Mike Tyson.

They seem to be delegating criminal liability. who makes the decision to keep people who have been let go on the payroll? James claims that he left the content of the paper and hacking to the managing director, but was more in control of administration- the funding side. Surely if in control of funding he would have knowledge of payments-ultimately one of them knows who is kept on the payroll and signs off on the big cheques.
You can't pay others to break the law and not be guilty.
Those willful blind spots are getting very fuzzy.

| | | | | That would take too long. The outcry here (I'm still in the UK) is HUGE! And with police chiefs and politicians implicated they need to be seen to do something immediately. If they wait until they can have a trial, it will be seen as putting it off until the public forgets.
This is
OMG :0
Who was that?
