Tom Watson and Louise Mensch were the only good questioners.
Jim Sheridan was terrible. Asking about back doors | This user would like to thank for this useful post: | |

I thought the fact that he was asked to go into No.10 by the back door was significant. Somebody didn't want the world to know that the PM was in conversation with Murdoch. Why not, if it was entirely innocent?

Tony Blair asked him to come in the back door.

BBC News have just announced that Neil Wallis was informally advising Andy Coulson while he worked for David Cameron.

Which I was in the middle of saying before Murdoch got custard pied and I got distracted and lost my thread.

Is US Law different from UK in this respect? Surely they will be prosecuted under the non-statutory Combined Code of Corporate Governance which I believe is the equivalent of the US Sarbannes Oxley. I don't know enough about this but thought that the head of a company is ultimately liable for the actions of the company. Or do these laws only cover financial irregularities? | Quote: | | | | It’s been reported (although without proof) that a private investigator and former New York City police officer was offered payment for information about 9/11 victims.
"If these allegations are proven true," Rep. Peter King (R) of New York, who chairs the Homeland Security Committee, wrote to FBI Director Robert Mueller, "the conduct would merit felony charges for attempting to violate various federal statutes related to corruption of public officials and prohibitions against wiretapping.” | | | | | http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/2011/07...nnections-grow |

He made her.
I'd love to see Maggie and Rupert sitting next to each other at an inquiry trying to field tough questions at their ripe old ages. That'd be hilarious to see all their senior moments side by side.

I think Rebekah referred to the Panorama program (the link I posted from Youtube) in her questioning. It is pretty clear there that the first political coup was Thatcher. However what surprised me in the Panorama program is that Mosley is acting as Financial guarantor for any person who has a hacking case and wants to sue Murdoch. I never thought that I would praise Mosley. http://www.insurancejournal.com/news.../19/206756.htm |

So if he's offering to help others, I guess he may just be a frontman for other interests. Is his offer only to tackle News International or other media as well?

Why not watch the Panorama?
I would do it for you but I'm watching the Tour de France I want to watch Contador get away from the Schlecht.

He obviously just wants to give Rupert a good spanking! :-) What a surprise.
It's strange that Rupert Murdoch owns all this media but his command of English means his opening remark was, "This is the most humble day of my life."
How can a day be humble?

I thought the whole circus yesterday showed just how toothless the government is with Murdochworld. The questioning was lame and the only answer said in about 100 different ways was "it wasn`t me guv, honest. It was the other bloke"
What a load of BS
