Re: World's 50 most delicious foods

These are not necessarily my favourites, but in the meals category there seem to be many omissions: e.g. The traditional Sunday roast; Christmas/thanksgiving turkey; Chicken Tikka Masala (possibly not 'traditional' put popular however); Pizza.

In the way of food developments, frozen food should have got a mention: frozen peas; fish fingers. Also canned foods such as baked beans.

As DB pointed out, it is just a list of rubbish knocked together without much basis in fact. That seems to be an accurate description of much of the media though.

Somehow I missed the entry for "Fresh Langoustine Tails with Beurre Blanc"

Any Swiss food on that US-domiciled list would not be allowed on UBS or CS staff restaurant menus for at least until the end of the 2012 tax year, so that's probably a good thing.

On the other hand "Hamburger, Germany", and "Ice Cream, United States" seem to somewhat misrepresent the actual origin of these particular dishes
I'm not quite sure about the ice-cream, but the hamburger actually was brought to the States (and the world) by Geman immigrants.

Me too! Have you tried it on a hamburger? Wagyu beef burger straight off the grill and a thin slice of fois gras at room temperature on top. Also, it's not cruel, but that's a debate for another day.

Nordseekrabben!!!
That's greyish north sea small shrimps. Best of the best. Can be eaten with almost anything, always delicious! And I am not saying that only because of childhood nostalgy. I missed them in France, they were nowhere to be found. Switzerland imports them, and not only in Nordsee shops.
