Re: Explosion in Oslo

Police says that there is a connection between the attack in the youth camp and the bomb attack in Oslo. Guess they will release some information soon.Really sad about what is going on.

Re: Explosion in Oslo

Any Norwegian members who can shed a light on the internal politics of "Norway Labour Party" and why someone would attack them?

I'm totally not buying this terrorist attack theory, this is pure politics what happened and there's a reason behind it.

Some piece of info i found is:

Norwegian politics and the democratic outlook? Blood is thicker than water.
Quote:
The Labour party is the biggest party in Norway, but like everybody else, with a dwindling membership. One MP is currently on her way to the Mediterranean, where she hopes to bust Israel legal blockade of Hamas.

It is interesting to note that the party congress this year voted overwhelmingly to support the establishment of a Palestinian state, but threw out a proposal to let disabled people have a greater say managing their personal needs. This is an old claim that goes back over 20 years and enjoys massive support among the electorate as well as the organizations. The last center-right government proposed it as a law in 2006, but the red-green coalition threw it out also then. How representative of the Labour Party’s voter base is the decision to let Palestine take precedence over the most vulnerable in our society?
Abbas launches state initiative in Oslo
Quote:
Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, who has long been active in efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict between the Palestinians and the Israelis over territory, signed the embassy agreement with Abbas. He supports the Palestinians’ right to seek recognition from the UN and disagrees with opposition politicians in Norway who claim Abbas’ latest initiative will hinder further negotiations with the Israelis.
Quote:
Opposition politicians in Norway claim Støre’s support for the Palestinians’ UN initiative can further hurt the chance of negotiations with the Israelis. “I hope the foreign minister makes it clear that this is symbolic politics,” Morten Høglund of the conservative Progress Party told Aftenposten.no. “Peace in the Middle East needs to be found in another way.”
Apparently there were a major debate between Labour & opposition on this issue since 19th July

Re: Explosion in Oslo

Most likely a Norwegian guy who shot all those people (25-30? unconf) at the island outside Oslo. 560 (?) young people were there for a political meeting. They were expecting Jens Stoltenberg to give a speech later on.
http://www.coveritlive.com/index2.ph...f&ipod=y&rand=
Swedish live above for those who understand...
In short, a tall blond man (30-40 years old) came dressed as a police officer and asked to be taken from the mainland to the island for a security check, due to the bombings in Oslo. He showed his ID and all seemed OK, so a boat was arranged for him. After he came to the island he started shooting and many are injured or dead. There is one report saying there are 25-30 on the beach. Another witness says at least 10 dead. People were running into the sea trying to escape the bullets. None of this is confirmed, it's just a quick summary of what I've read so far...

Re: Explosion in Oslo

Some more interesting read from the Norwegian Police Annual Threat Assesment 2011 :

Quote:
Far-right extremists in Norway have only been slightly active in recent years.

However, the trend that saw an increased level of activity in 2010 is expected to continue in 2011. Several players would like to revive the far-right extremist communities. However, the lack of strong leaders limits the growth of these groups.

There are indications of contact between Norwegian far-right extremists and organised criminal groups. This could give the far-right extremist groups easier access to weapons and thereby increase the potential for violence. While the need for a sense of belonging and the fascination with violence are often strong reasons why many young persons are recruited to far-right extremist groups, the ideology appears to be a secondary factor.

Norwegian far-right extremists are in contact with Swedish far-right extremists, as well as with other far-right extremist groups in Europe.

Contact also takes place between Norwegian and Russian far-right extremists. The Russian groups are much more violent than other European groups and commit several scores of killings annually, mainly of ethnic minorities. They therefore have a high status within these
extremist groups. Contact with Russian far-right extremists can contribute to an increased radicalisation and reduce the threshold for the use of violence by the Norwegian groups.
Anyone who have friends or family in Norway, there's major shortage in bloodbank specially "O" type....they're really in need of donors to be able to save lives, phone number: +4722118900 #blodbanken

A witness saw a suspicious-looking man in a police uniform on site just minutes before the explosions took place in Oslo.

The policeman wore a helmet and his shoulders looked big, as if he had something under his clothes. He was seen getting into a big car 2 min before the explosions.

Eyewitnesses confirm it was the same man and same car in the 2 locations (40 min drive between both locations)

Saying Islamists did it with no single evidence isn't any better....it's a matter of fighting doubt with more doubt....isn't this how politics works

A guy on BBC said this is the first major attack since 7/7. Not sure the people of Mumbai would agree with that

Are you new to internet?, don't you think it's a bit vague to claim a terrorist attack on an internet forum

If this is what the people are believing, then i can list whatever names under anonymous i.d and will make sure it hits social media in no time.

Data on the Internet can be manipulated easily for people like you to believe it, unless someone comes out and say it in public, i stand my points above.

Whilst I also agree that it's a bit too early to be jumping to any conclusions regarding the identity of those responsible for these tragic and appaling incidents, may I ask what special knowledge or qualifications you have that set you apart from "people like you" to use your words?

There are significant reasons that could (I say could not do) give cause to believe that these incidents may be the responsibility of persons with some sort of religious motivations and equally, there may well be significant reasons for believing it's a politically motivated one. Now you're arguing that it's the Norwegian Far Right that could be responsible whereas a few posts earlier you stated "my thought is: a mossad job" (post #10 in this thread) Who's subscribing to which conspiracy theory here?

If you read the posts well, you'll understand that far right is Israel's best ally in Norway, while the labour being center left is going against their will / politics, so in an easy way:

Far Right / Israel Vs Labour Party atm regarding the Palestinian state declaration
