To be honest, they did try to make her go to Rehab.

I was meant to be seeing her at Paleo tonight before she cancelled. I'm so sad she can never make any more songs. She's inspired a lot of people, her music will be remembered for a long time I'm sure. I'm just so sad we won't have anymore. She sang from the heart, with soul.

And thats the thing nobody can make you go it's got to be your decision.

Sad news indeed but it was predictable in same way as an analogy to Jimmy Morrison's life. Very talented and great people go early but it is their decision how they want to live and take control of their lives. She was continuing fight against her addictions but it seems like it was too late for her RIP

I wouldn't call this a tragedy per se. It's more a "consequence". What a waste of life. Guess the record company won't be milking this loss as much as they possibly could....?

Such a sad end to a talented person.
Was it her success that led to her downward spiral or did she have drug/drink issues prior?

What a lot of people do not understand about the drug addiction, there's people who fall for it and cannot get out.....others choose it, live it and enjoy it, they just enjoy the peace of mind, living in a parallel world and not be bothered about the ugliness of the real world everyone is living in.....in such a case, their drug addiction become their gateway of the everyday life, sort of a stairway to heaven....most of these people who opt for this options are genius in their creativity ie. Kurt, Jim, Jimmy, Janis, Amy and others.

No one can judge her or feel pity for her, it might look awkward to us but she was definitely enjoying every moment of it, even the moment she overdosed....it was her choice, she stood up for it and gave us extreme pleasure of imagining it with her tunes.....imagine how great and satisfied she was feeling to make us happy just imagining her world.

R.I.P Amy....you lived your life the way you wanted and enjoyed it...hope you're in a better place now and still enjoying it.

So sad, she was a really talented singer. Such a shame she was unable to kick the habit.

She was much more than a 'good singer' or a manufactured pop act. She had genuine stage presence and was true star quality.

Along with the Norway tragedy, it's been a bad weekend for wasted youth.

I was just talking about her last night. How Back to Black is one of the few songs in the last few years that is any good - that its quite frankly a modern classic. She was a real talent and sadly missed, may she rest in eternal peace.

To be honest, it didn't come as a shock for me. I knew that it wouldn't be too long until the day came. It was clear through her music she was in a bad place.. It's a bit sad to say this, but that's what made her music so great. Music was her outlet and that's why it had so much soul. Anyway, she's sure inspired alot of people.

Mowvich, I understand what you're saying, but I think there's obviously points in the rock n roll drug lifestyle when things aren't going how you want, but you're too deep in the sh!t to get out, and I think for Amy there were a lot of those points. People who don't know her will never know, but I know the people who always sell their stories about her to the media probably aren't the best source.

If I inspired as many people as she did at such an age - well f*** me, I reckon I'd be happy. Anyway, f*** the rest of this, I'm gunna just enjoy some Amy.

Rock stars become rock stars after being into drugs, drugs is mostly their lifestyle wether it is because of problems or just that they chose to live in their own parallel world...their music becomes so awesome as it always got this texture of euphoric sadness and sorrow, which is basically the effects of seeing the real world through grayed pale glasses while being in a euphoric mood

It is a shame for us fans because regardless of her personal life she was such a talented person, I feel sorry for her family and friends. It is a bit sad though to see that her inclusion of the 27 club is looked upon as a great achievement, that is even sadder

I agree with you. There's so much junk out there now, you have to really dig to find "good" music. Ami was "raw talent." For sure. She couldn't handle the fame that went along with it, and basically I don't think she was in the business only to "get rich and famous." I think she just wanted to make music and be left alone. And the only way she felt she could be left alone is through drugs. Which in the end killed her...she definently was a "genuine" talent though...very unique.
