At the risk of many groans....
It is of course sad that Amy is dead and it is a waste of a life which is never good, but we have not lost a great talent.
She was a very good singer of other peoples songs, not much talent needed for that. Sorry, but it had to be said.

He/she might then temporarily close the Thread to give everyone a break without resorting to banning, masses of PMs or similar actions. Later the Thread may be re-opened and if it gets back on track will be left. If the same thing happens again, it will probably be permanently closed.

Really ? Seriously ?
At least the ''people-pleasing banker'' (an oxymoron, by the way) is still alive... |

No, No, No. It was good that she followed her dream and didn't become a 0815 ant. I have the upmost respect for people who take a risk in order to live their dream - even if they fail at least they tried.
It is something I should have done 30 years ago and didn't have the balls.

Besides the point, she died which is a waste of a life, but not the end of the world as we know it. No reason to turn her into a legend.

Either prove it or STFU.

Either prove it or STFU. | | | | | Winehouse's debut album, Frank, was released on 20 October 2003. Produced mainly by Salaam Remi, many songs were influenced by jazz and, apart from two covers, every song was co-written by Winehouse.
The key is in the 'co-written'. She was signed by A&R and turned over to a production team to work on songs apparently.
But I say again, it is not the point. The point is she died needlessly and that is a waste.

| | Re: Amy Winehouse found dead in flat | Quote: | | | | | You prove she didnt as you are the one making the initial statement, prove that she didn't compose most of her songs herself. And why not leave this thread alone & start a different one as this thread isnt about your kind of comments. | | | | | My comments were that it was a needless waste of a life and is regrettable. Which is what this thread was all about.

As long as her name is on the list, she is a WRITER.
Unless you have something like Lennon's interview on Playboy regarding to what measure who wrote what, you are just spouting heresay.. please keep that to yourself.

I really don't think her death is a waste of anything.. She left her mark while she was alive and therefore it is by no means a waste.. Tragic yes but not a waste.
I wrote a blog entry about her yesterday : http://nadiaswiss.blogspot.com/2011/07/ode-to-amy.html
Might seem contrived to some but as a big fan of hers, it was important to me..
